PS3 or Xbox360 for RPGs?

Yeah, if you're planning on buying either one sometime in the near future, then the 360 is definitely the way to go for RPGs.

360 seems like the better console for RPGs, if you like JRPG's you got already our games like Lost odyssey and tales of vesperia, if you like WRPGS you got mass effect and two worlds already out

as for upcoming games you got Fable 2, cry on and star ocean 4

I'm planning to buy myself one of these systems, but am mostly interested in RPGs. I believe Xbox360 has the most at the moment, but if that's going to change in the future, then i'll take that into account. If you could name some RPGs on the consoles that are already out or coming out that are good, that'd be great! Or just throw in your two cents ;)barkera0

but anyway ...I'm the same way I play mostly Role playing games to and the PS3 has

Virtual Fighter 5 (also on xbox360), Tekken 6 ,Final Fantasy XI (X360) and Soulcalibur IV (PS3) .

neither

get a DS lite.

360 techincally has more RPGs, but honestly they're all run of the mill rpgs, mass effect aside

the DS has many more, and ones that are actually innovative like Dragon Quest, The World ends with you

or just buy a ps2 again. persona 4 this fall you know.

ps3,.... i love my ps3 but rpgs is not something its been doing well

i loved folklore, that aside, nothing much else there too see i haven't seen before

Their are not alot of forseeable RPGs coming to the PS3 in the future from what I've seen. There is however alot coming to the XBOX360. XBOX360 is the obvious choice for next generation RPGs.Dahaka-UK

But ofcourse you can get a PS3 for the buggy PS1 backwards compatabiility, where half the games don't work and look like crap due to shoddy upscaling. You can play Chrono Cross one of the best RPGs on the PS1.... Buggy aswell hell, crashes every 10 seconds... but playable. :| Umm yeah... Get a XBOX360 if you want next gen RPGs. I very much doubt that we will ever see Cross Edge in english.

How does it feel making stuff up? Not all PS1 games work the same on the PS3. Type in Chrono Cross, and you will see that there are some flaws in the backwards compatibility...

has namco said that the new tales will be a PS3 exclusive? You still didn't explain why you mention KH3 and there's still the WRPG factor

Not at all, there are only a select few RPGs for the PS3 that look to be worth while. 2 of which are on the XBOX360 already. They simply look lackluster and generic. Disgaea 3 is a big time flop. WKC looks even more dumbed down and worse than IU. Cross Edge? If I haven't heard of it. It's bound to be a failure. Probably another one of those japanese only games.

You must not of played many PS1 games on your PS3. FF7 does infact suffer from framerate issues and has bugs. Chrono Cross is completely unplayable. Sure a few of the best games work properly. But not all.. It'd be stupid to get a PS3 for PS1 games. What you need is a PS1 console an SD Tv.

The only negative thing I can say about Folklore is the comic book-ishness of all the cutscenes. Aside from that it's all good stuff.

And yeah, it's really just a very story-driven action adventure with Pokemon-esque RPG elements.

I was all with you up to this point. I remember almost zero hype for Disgaea aside from it being the first real RPG on the PS3.

I already edited and added WRPG. And yes it is without a doubt a PS3 exclusive Tales game. Its been clarified in Famitsu. I listed KH3 because the TC said he had patience. Which is why I listed future games. Come now we all know Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming.WhiteKnightXIII
