The Playstation 3 launched in Europe in March of this year, ofcoures the numbers will be high.

Not to mention the fact that Microsoft cut shipments of the Xbox 360 until the internal problems were fixed.

I hope so.... I dont want to be playing games on a machine from 2005, when 2010 comes around. I like to stay fairly current in the hardware department.

A one million advantage will mean little in the larger scheme of things. And the 360's first-year sales did exceed that of the PS3.

However, this does shed some light on the oft-repeated notion that the PS3 is failing while the 360 is trouncing it. That's just not the case. Both consoles are neck and neck right now in terms of sales rates, so what they do in the coming months is crucial to their future success.

With the way lemmings talk around here you would assume the PS3 would have sold 1 million while the 360 sold 10! So much for the PS3 not selling better than the 360.DeathIsARight

And as i said before...By the time we see BD as a neccessity in gaming & PS3 surpasses X360 in worldwide sales, we will be talking the next Xbox, while c0ws play their PS3 til 2014. :lol:

Home and Killzone 2 are not the reasons why to buy a PS3. And the price-cut hasn't done much good; sony has basically downgraded the already crappy system so they can sell it for 100 bucks less. Also, I am sure people are getting sick of FF since this like the 100th one being released. The 360 will kill in the holiday season with Mass Effect and Halo 3, and then in 2008 with all of the other great games coming.

First of all, It' obvious that people would be sick of a Halo 13. Secondly, you have obviously never played Halo 3 you silly cow, because it much better than any FPS I have played along with HL, and thirdly, you are totally missing the point. Halo 3 is the ultimate system seller; people buy the Xbox 360 just to play it. I doubt that FF 13 will be half the system seller that Halo 3 is.

Try and put this into perspective, 360 has sold way over 10 million units. If these figures are even close then PS3 still has another 9.4 million units to go (again these are inaccurate too) to come close to the 360s market share.

And with no clear fore-runner in Sony's line up, i don't see many people going for a £300 blu-ray player with no BC.

Exactly, people seem to forget this. PS3 should be selling better, but at only 5.5 million so far, now that is pathetic. Yes the 360 isn't doing so good either, but in its first year it almost sold 9 million. Thats why people believe the ps3 is a failure at the moment, the sales are very disappointing considering that last gen ps2 was the clearer winning by more than 6x.

You fanboys forget something, the ps3 has has mutliple launches during that time frame. You take those out, the 360 outsold ps3. The USA, Canada, (UK most months), Australia continually show that.

Seriously, look beyond the numbers... the numbers are inflated by launches. Because between those launches and until recently, the ps3 was selling terribly.
