以前のお伝えしたとおり、PS3とXBOX360の総販売台数の差は360万台まで縮まって来ている。

Sonyは直近の3ヶ月のPS3の販売台数は予想を上回る240万台であることを明らかにしている。MicrosotとSonyの決算時期には若干のずれがあるものの、この1年間のデータの比較は非常に興味深いものとなるだろう。


Sonyの2009年度(2009/04～2010/03)PS3販売台数は1300万台だ。
以下に表を用意したが、直近一年(2009/07～2010/06)では1430万台となりXBOX360の1030万台を大きく上回っている。

つまり一年間の合計を見ると400万台もの差を一気に縮めたことになる。

このペースが維持されるならば、2011年の中頃にはPS3の総販売台数はXBOX360を超えることになるだろう。

Last year the PS3 sold over 4 million units more than the 360 worldwide, which means for every 360 that sold last year, 1 1/2 ps3's were sold. The PS3 moved 14.3 million units and Xbox 360 moved 10.3 million units during the same 12 month period. The information is from fiscal year, not from calendar year (April 2009 - March 2010).

Given the following trend, the PS3 will surpass the 360 in total sales by end of 2010 fiscal year (early 2011 calendar).

PC is in first? Such a uneducated argument by pc gamers wich shows there inferiority complex. As far as game sales go the pc is in last. Look up the sales of any multiplat and it gets romped. Not to mention the PC is made by nearly a dozen diffrent companies that profit from it. Comparing it in sales to one console made by one company makes no sense.

Around 70 million care about the Wii. It's target audience isn't all that relevant. Gamers would find all consoles and the PC appealing.

The great thig is though is if you dont want to play motion controls you dont have to , With the wii you have no choice.

Who buys the console is irrelevant, the sales are relevant and it is the highest selling console. It also has games that appeal to a wider market, and quite a few of its games sell like hot cakes (NSMB Wii anyone?).

Pointless? Nope. They are an interesting topic of discussion which can, and do, have a direct affect on what games we get, and the experiences we garner from said games.

And NSMB wii is a Nintendo game wich further proves my point. You dont see all the hot titles coming out for the wii do you? Matter a fact they are coming to every platform except the wii.

Not at all. I'm saying game and console sales have a direct affect on what games release in the future. Before a game concept is even made, many companies will do market research to see aspects that gamers praise, and what actually sells.

I'm talking about other games they release *after* one with bad sales.
