No, I was just wondering. If I had bought a PS3 a long time ago (as I wanted to before I heard the $600 pricetag), I would regret it right now.

I could've gotten a 360 at launch, but I got a PS2 instead.

When I got a PS3 my mind was completely made..so in summary, NO.

what about people with a 360?... It dropped itself also. So yeah,its like saying people who bought the ps2 at launch got "ps3'd",I would have still gotten a ps3,it's lineup is pretty good. i mean its 3 monthes from 08 start...

i wouldn't have bought any console at all to be honest, would've spent my money on a nice amp for my guitar, i've got a friend who has a 360 so that covers any 360 needs i have, and if i hadn't gotten my ps3 i doubt i'd even be at this forum or be hyped about Mass Effect (or possibly even know it existed, unless my friend said something), but it's nice to have it and we compare games sometimes

I don't regret it at all. I also am NOT short sighted like 90% of gamers. I bought the PS3 based on what's to come over the next 5 years. By the end of 08' you'll know what I mean.mztazmz

yeah and 2 of those 3 games are good...hs was good

and r+c was sorely underscored on this sight and has an averag of 89.7, lowest aaa.

so yeah as a ps3 owner ive waited for r+c as i played oblivion and resistence.

Would I still have bought a ps3 early knowing that I could get one cheaper if I waited 10 months? Yes, because I have thoroughly enjoyed my ps3 for those 10 months. The whole idea of early adopters being screwed is an idiotic notion. Should people never buy a pc becuase they know that in a year they can get a better pc for cheaper? No because if they wait that year, they will still be in the same position (because in another year there will be an even better pc, for cheaper). The same can be said for any technology. Maybe I shouldn't buy a new car, because next year, the same model of car will be thousands cheaper. My HDTV cost $400--if I had waited a year, I could get a better tv for the same price. Are you going to post the same thread again in another year, asking people who bought the $400 ps3 if they regret it because there's a $300 one? By that stance, you should never at any time buy any piece of tech because you will always be able to get it cheaper by waiting. Whatever system you happen to own will be cheaper at some time than it was when you bought it (if it isn't already). So do you regret buying your system of choice, knowing that you could have waited and gotten it for cheaper?

The only people who should feel screwed are people who buy something right before a price drop is announced, and for them, most electronics stores will refund the difference if you buy something and it drops within a certain time period of your purchase.

Provided the console is being used and enjoyed, I don't think a cow should regret their purchase. Cows who bought for the future games could have waited and saved some coin. The real losers were the people who bought them to re-sell on ebay. I don't feel sorry for them at all, as they were only trying to rip other people off.

Not at all. The time I have spent with my PS3 was great. The people ive met and the games ive played I have all enjoyed. And as another poster said, I looked father than the launch year; I knew what games would be coming so I knew what i was in for. Plus I got a 60 gig fully backwards compatible, memory card readers, and wifi for $500 and I can increase the HD anytime I feel the need, so I think I actually got a better deal than people who are buying it today.....

I would still buy it. I'm also glad i'm a early adopter (not that early but I got it in March 07) because I have the 60 GB. While the 80 GB has emulated B/C and the 40 GB doesn't have any PS2 B/C.

360 on the other hand I wish I waited. Since the Pro (the new premium) now has a HDMI port and my current 360 doesn't.

Xbox360's price didn't drop for 21 months, which is much more reasonable than 10.

I got rid of my Xbox and got a PS3 the day it came out for $599. My first Playstation by the way and I couldn't be happier with it. It's been a lot of fun being part of the PS3 community and going along for the ride. Honestly with everything the PS3 does even at $599 I'd do it all over again. At $399 it's a no brainer, I paid more than that for my first Ipod. :)EmperorSupreme

If I had the opportunity to change my decision, I'm not sure if I would or would not.

On the one hand, I'm looking forward to several games. On the other hand, I won't be around to play several of them in 2009.

If I didn't get a PS3, I certainly wouldn't have bought any other console either.

I dont regret it for a second. Never had a console before, been a die hard pc gamer upto now (so most of the decent xbox games i coudl get anyhow). So for me theres more than enough games on the ps3, in fact I dont have the time to play them all (especialy now cod 4 is out.). God knows how im going to find the time to play assasins creed or drakes fortune.

As for the price drop , im 30 and have a good job. $100 dollars is nothing, god i spend much more than that on a friday night out in the city. At least with the ps3 i dont havegod almighty hangover the next day ;-).

So you're expecting people to say their $600 purchase was a mistake? Even if they think it is, saying it would make it official. Contrary to what you believe, there are a lot ofpeople that boughta PS3and admit that they should've waited at least until the price dropped. I personally regret buying my PS3 less than I do my 360 for the simple fact that it would randomly freeze up and eventuallygot the rings of death. I enjoy playing games on both systems, but for me the biggest waste of money is the one that didn't last a year before it crapped out.
