PS3 owners jumping ship?

Here are a couple of the many threads showing up on the Xbox forums after E3, apparently their conference made quite an impression on some PS3 owners.

Like I said these are only a couple of the many threads appearing after E3 (too lazy to look for the rest), but after E3 these threads were showing up like crazy. Not sure exaclty what made these people change their minds, but it is looking really good for Microsoft these days.

why would i be joking? alot of fence sitters who have been waiting to go next gen have been putt off the ps3 by its poor showing of exclusive content. a ps3 owner probably won't buy a 360 aswel but as a first decision the whole FF13 thing will hurt sony in terms of those choosing a next gen system.

What? I'm not saying anything bad about Sony, I'm just saying I've noticed a ridiculous amount of threads since E3, these type of threads are showing up EVERYWHERE and large amounts of them, not only on the Xbox forums but a lot of different video game forums, including here and the E3 forums. Just pointing out the obvious, nothing against Sony.

This is system wars after all.

Well the June sales figures that GS posted showed that the PS3 was outselling the 360 2/1. This obviously has something to do with MGS4, but it's still a big deal. I'm not jumping ship and will shoot anybody who tries, but I am starting to shop around for a Core because I want to play Gears2 and a few other 360 games coming out.

I just read the link you provided and that person is not "jumping ship", they're investing in a second console. They're still PS3 gamers. 360 gamers should consider getting a PS3.GTASA_Cartel

You act as if the game is exclusive to the 360 or something. The game is multiplatform and even if it does hurt Sony in some potential buyers, there are still some people who are gonna look at the lineup of games around Final Fantasy XIII (who knows when its coming out).

Say I want God of War III, Infamous, Killzone II, and Little Big Planet. I would then choose a PS3. Vice Versa for the 360 also. If I want Gears II, Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4 ,and Fable II then im gonna choose a 360. Its as simple as that.

Please be more specific. In that thread he stated that he infact owned a PS3 and was quite happy with it, but was getting a 360 for the exclusives, a lot like me. Thats not jumping ship, jumping ship would mean to sell your PS3 to get a 360. Buying a 360 does not mean your a MS fanboy. I'll still be a Sony fanboy till the day I die.

No but thats just the thing, online gaming is one of the most important thing to ALOT of gamers these days, which Xbox unarguably excells at. As much as I hate to admit it multiplayer and online gaming is the future of video games. Some people don't even play SP anymore.

He did'nt say "Im getting it for the exclusives". He said he thinks its a good console but he is dissapointed with it so he is buying a 360. If thats not jumping ship I don't know what is. My point is that these threads are EVERYWHERE, thats all Im saying.

I don't think that the multiplatform FFXIII thing will hurt Sony much at all. I know a lot of FF fanboys who are also big MGS fans because of MGS's complex storyline. And most of my FF friends started buying PS3's back in June, so it's not really even an option for them anymore. FFXIII is a lot of wasted money on MS's part if you ask me.

I have a friend who has gotten five RROD's. Everytime he's had to pay for shipping and wait 2 months to get his 360 back.

Really? Because i got mine at launch, and almost 2 years later, they replaced it, and prolonged the warranty.

True, but the RROD thing sooooo blown out of proportion on the internet. On the internet it seems like 85% peoples 360's die, which is not the case. The freinds I ask (in person) about it look at me like I'm crazy. "RROD?"

EDIT: Ive had my 360 for over a year with no problems, and as much as it kills me to say it, if it died after my warranty ran out I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I don't think it will either. What Sony is gonna have to do is get some sort of supporting cast around Final Fantasy XIII, improve their online, and push there new SKU (80 gig no BC unit).

If M$ had gained this as an exclusive or multiplat in Japan, then there might have been a big differene, but the game is still exclusive in Japan and multiplat in the U.S and Europe. It is pretty much wasted money when you think about it. Square- Enix is a mysterious company.

As far as I know he didn't get reimbersed for shipping the console to microsoft.

I've sent 4 back (I have 2 that each has broken twice). And each time they send me a pre-paid box to ship it back to them. It costs nothing. For a while they used UPS and they would charge if you had them pick it up at your house. But if you saw a UPS truck or took it to a store it was free. But now they use fedex and it's 100% free even for scheduled pickup.

I think the whole FF thing pushed a lot of PS3 owners over the edge. Sure it's not exclusive to the 360 but it's the principle that angered so many people. If that one can go multi anything can happen. I think it was the last straw for a lot of people and I think it will do alot to help Xbox sales.

There are a bunch of Lems jumping ship, too.

People have their different tastes.
