PS3 preorders 5 times Wii in New Zealand

At least this more than counters the apparent lackluster sales of Australia. Additionally, the entire EU appears to be a success. The installed base shouldn't be too much of an issue by the end of this year. I suspect it will reach at least 40-50% of the 360 installed base by the end of the year.

Wow, it's really expensive in NZ! They must have gotten advertising for it or something...

Who told you the PS3 was a failure in Australia? If we're talking about the number of people that lined up for the console then that's different but it supposedly did well here according to PALGN and a few other sources.

It's that country next to Australia. 

I'm from New Zealand and I got myself a PS3.  I really should've waited 'till 2008 when some decent games come out for it.  Resistance sucks, Motorstorm's a decent game but has NO options and is shallow and rushed, sixaxis is a gimmick, PSN is a joke compared to XBL and I found myself playing Gears the first night I got it.I'm no fanboy, but I honestly felt like a dumb-ass getting a PS3 so early.
