How long do you think it will be till Microsoft announces an Xbox 360 price drop also?

Interesting as it shows Sony's prioritization of the US market at present.Danm_999
Agreed, I wonder how Europe feels about this. I honestly think Sony thinks it's europian fans are stupid...
sony just dont get it do they...
who is going to want a 60g model now the 80g model is coming to the u.s.? like how many people wanted to 60g over the 20?
they should just stick with the 60g as the lead sku and drop the price of it 100 sheets and not offer any 80g sku..anyone can replace the hdd in there ps3 anytime they want so this is a bad move i think..
i think they are only releasing a 80g ps3 at all so they can go head to head with the elite ...not to be out done by ms!
this isnt really a price drop at all looking at it from a certain perspective....thanks for the news gamespotthey must have a lot to show at e3 if were hearing about all this news now eh?
also why only the price drop for the u.s.? maybe becasue its drawn the most flack there from budding ps3 ownersdaveg1
No anyway you look at it is a price cut. You people never stop moaning do you? And by the waythis is different from 20GB vs 60GB because the 20GB was lacking certain components where as the only difference now is Harddrive space

Well he's got a point, you can still only get a $500 or $600 PS3, since the 20GB is discontinued.
Probably not a price cut so much as it is a value boost.

You can break gaming down in 3 catergories...
NTSC-J, NTSC and PAL.
NTSC-J : Price Drop off the Bat cause of Hugh PR Slamming by the Media in Sonys Home Country.
NTSC : Price Drop Six Months Later cause of Hugh PR Slamming by the Media across Multiple Media
PAL : We Need to Bash Sony More...
That about sums it up, until we start bashing the ps3 consistantly in the media in our regions sony won't give a damn and will treat us just like they always do, bottom class customers.
i wish people would stop saying the ps3 needs a lowers price drop.....
u don't want a hd movie player inside? well i do....and if u get all the add-ons for the 360 that u get inside the ps3 ur looking at a mess of wires and things looped every where. besides (2 Americans) u get it super cheap
Europe could do with a pricecut as well, here in Norway it costs around 1000$ on average... I'm getting one next year along with a new sound system and a Bravia TV and I sure hope it gets a little cheaper by then. Logically, I could assume that a European pricecut would occur around the holiday season given europe's later release date. That would make sense, right? Probably slightly boost sales in the most important console sales time of year.
