I'm only reporting this I did'nt make the darn article.

You think the real smart ones would've point this bit of info out already but here.....

Having successfully dominated the competition with the PlayStation 3 outselling both the Xbox 360 and the Wii by 15 000 and 6 000 sales respectively, Sony gives its rivals no time to recover as its first-party software, Resistance: Fall of Man, climbs the charts in Europe to reach the top position.

Whilst official chart positions are not yet available, Media Control GfK International has revealed that the three best selling PS3 titles in this country are Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm and F1 Championship Edition.

Below is a list of the ten best selling games in Spain, Italy and Germany:

Are those numbers of outselling before or after the 82% drop in sales?  If it's before, then ouch, just ouch.  If it is still outselling the Wii and the 360 after the 82% drop, then the PS3 has a strong case for a comeback.

Please post total sales. Launch numbers are meaningless when it has no momentum.

I have to say it's Microsoft who has been spinning good news. And yes, TLHBO.

It just came out, of course it will outsell the 360 and Wii. But, if it goes as in the U.S. and Japan (if it does, not saying it will) the sales will drop in a month or two.

April 3, 2007 - According to a recent Bloomberg report on the sales of Wii vs. PS3 in Japan, Nintendo's new console has gained an overwhelming lead over Sony's HD console, selling at a 2:1 ratio over Playstation 3 to continue the Big N's domination of Japan.

Based on a sales research report by Enterbrain Inc., Nintendo has sold 1.95 million units of Wii through March 25. In comparison, Sony's console has sold 812,000 systems in its five months on the shelves since November 11. It is also important to remember that Wii launched a month after PlayStation 3 in Japan.

So while Nintendo's console continues to generate a profit on each system sold (as previously announced by Nintendo), sales also double Sony's console, expanding the profit gap between Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft substantially based on previous cost/profit information on hardware sales. Sony continues to stay afloat in both American and Japan despite a lack of hardware-driving games, though the company is undoubtedly losing a foothold on its previously uncontested mass-market appeal in every major region.

Article writer fails miserably for calling Europe a country.

Yeah this thread pretty much fails.  It doesn't even specify which week the hardware sales numbers were for.  If they were for the launch week, like the software sales were, then outselling Wii by 6k and X360 by 15k is just downright pathetic.

Also remeber the Wii is still supply constrained, so these figures are representative of only how many Wiis are available, not the demand

Chart Track doesn't release weekly data so I don't know how they would know how many units the Wii or Xbox Sold.

They just released the PS3's data because it was launch and post launch week. Not because they normal do...

Well cows, you might as well get used to it. Face it, the 'momentum' is over. We told you it was going to happen, but you wouldn't listen. You jumped up and down and danced for joy over  one weeks worth of sales.

My favorite cow excuse: this happens in other industries like the movie industry. Not 82% for a major blockbuster movie. The oonly movies I remember falling that fast were the Matrix:Reloaded in the US and Days of Thunder in the UK.

What are cows going to say when the sales continue to plummet?

Just like Jack Tremmel (or whatever the Sony dude from the infamous "I'll give you $1200 for any PS3 on a store shelf" episode) said, the cows will say, "82% drop in sales means that Sony did a great job with the launch, by meeting demand!" And then they'll pull the cord on the dynamite strapped to their collective Sony-loving chests...
