Ps3 sales is going to increase once Spider man 3 is released on bluray

i think this is one of sony's movies that will be exclusive on bluray. We all know that everyone and i mean everyone wants to see spider man 3. Lets face it SpiderMan 3 is a big movie and ps3 is the lowest costing bluray player. What do yall think?

Also, even IF you're right, you're talking about 8 - 10 months from now. PS3 needs reasons to sell NOW, not in almost a year...

Hmmm so you think the non gamers are gonna go drive down to the local bestbuy and pickup a PS3 with SPiderman 3....I have no idea who you trying to target with this post???  You trying to make non gamers,  buy PS3 to watch movies.  This logic will hurt the PS3 more then help it since the game console relies on sales of games to do good, not movies.

I think the main focus for sony since last year is BLU ray, and even this year is BLU ray.  Why sell a console with a blu ray movie included and not a game....Would make sense to give a free game with a console then a movie wouldnt you think??

I said this in my blog and thread and a million times.

One reason among many I didn't get the PS3 is cause it was expensive yet the only free thing added was a movie? Not even a game. Not even a small XBLA kind of game, but a movie meaning they are pushing BR over gaming and I only buy consoles for gaming THAT'S ALL. I don't want a free movie after paying so much money canadian....just pissed me off more

I dont think there is anyway that Spiderman 3 will be exlclusive to blu ray only.  Its financial suicide to not include the highest selling format for movies....ANd I cant think of one Sony movie that is on blu ray and not on DVD.  So You can quote me on this that spiderman 3 will  be available on DVD.

I work in the film industry and if I said something like that in a meeting or amongst people in the biz they would laugh their asses off. People dont get how DVD sales are bigger then theatrical sales now a days. Most movies make money after theatrical release. Not having DVD sales is pretty much saying you don't want (in SP3's case) Millions and Millions of dollars.

Why would you do that? HD-DVD and DVD are two different things. You act like everyone has an HDTV. A lot of people on these forums dont get that the majority of people in general don't let alone gamers. BR and HD-DVD are like ants compared to DVD right now. DVD is not dead anytime soon, maybe in two years minimum but I think more like 3-4 years 

I didn't buy my PS3 to play Bluray movies.

I have no Bluray movies and I do not intend to buy them anytime soon until the DVD format is completly obsolete.

When DVD is dead I will buy a next gen player. I almost never use my PS2 or 360 etc.. for movies. Gaming consoles for me are just for gaming.
