Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 kept above the 20,000-unit figure in the latest retail sales data from Japan.
Media Create Co. on Tues. reported that the PS3 sold 21,321 units between Aug. 6 and Aug. 12. The figure is below the 24,289 units sold the week prior, but represents an increase from an average of 12,000 in previous months.
Everybody's Golf 5 ranked as the No. 6 title in the top 50 game sales. The title has sold nearly 250,000 units in three weeks at retail. The sequel was the only PS3 title to rank in the top 50.
The PS3 has sold more than 1 million units to date in Japan. It ranks as the No. 4 top-selling video hardware in the region.
Sony expects to ship 11 million PS3 units this business year.
