you couldnt find a 360 even if you wanted one in Jan and Feb last year, the comparison is meaningless.nybritboy

yes the ps3 is selling better than when the 360 came out. but to beat the 360 it would need to sell better than the 360 in the present. something that it's not close to doing in the US.Ontain

If the PS3 continues to sell about 80K a month in Japan and 360 sells 8K a month in Japan.....those current US Sales gaps will be closed in on just from that fact alone

exactly thats why microsoft wants the ps3 games to come over ..most of the games on the 360 i really dont care about at all..microsoft lost exclusive but no one cares because the games sucks..

it like japan is makin up the sales for the ps3 here in NA.but its also doin decently good here it sold 124k last month....at least its not 1k..lol.....while the 360 can only push barely 2k each week in japan..and the ps3 is able to push 30k each week or more there..when more games start  comeing out we will see a big increase again in ps3 sales..

Doesn't change the fact that the PS3 is still selling better at this stage than the Xbox360. Will the PS3 be a better system? Not necessarily. But is the PS3 dead like the posters of SW would have you believe? Absolutely not.2largeadults

Clearly it's flourishing like a bacteria multiplying by binary fission while sitting on the shelf. So yea, it's alive, it's just not being sold...

72k sales advantage monthly in Japan, using your numbers

120K sales disadvanatage monthly in US, using NPD February numbers.

 The Sales gap is going to be closed by allowing the 360 to pad their lead by 50k a month?!?

The PS3 is selling 80K in Japan but more than 100K less in NA.  How are they supposed  to catch up is they can't beat them in WW sales?

People seemed to conveniently forgot that PS3 also faced manufacturing woes that causes it to undersupplied during the crucial Christmas season when peoplle are in more spending mood. They could have a sold few  millions more if not for Blu Ray diode woes.

Japan + U.S. feb sales combined is less than what the X360 sold in febuary alone in North America. I think the X360 sold 50k more units than the PS3 combined total. I consider this a disaster for the PS3.

and the Wii is obliterating both of them

...pretty sad that all PS3 fanboys have to tout about is the fact that they are second place in terms of how well their console sold at the beggining of its lifecycle, but are still dead last by an overwhelming margin overall... this is the freakin PS3 for crying out loud, it was supposed to be the biggest thing ever, what a flop.

Whern you consider the advantage PS3 had with more consoles for launch it makes for really bad reading when you look at the software figures:

Xbox 360 - 4,324,000          PS3 - 2,684,750

Also Xbox 360 wins the 4th Month in hardware sales

Xbox 360 187,250                 PS3 - 133,750

Not good reading for any Cow.

figures show that the PS3 is selling slightly faster in the US than the Xbox 360 did at the same stage in its releaseA spokesperson from NPD

When will cows learn about reality or time.

It does not matter how the 360 was doing a year ago. The point about time is that the PS3 is getting mopped up now.

While you are right in some aspect, you're twisting things.  There were 360s readily available throughout the US by the end of the holiday season.  They weren't selling out through March.  The 360s sales didn't rise all through last year until about September.  The 360 is NOT a sales machine.  It's not really doing that well currently, and it certainly got off to a very poor start.

Sucks to be you.  I'm in a major metro area, and I don't know a single person who wanted one in the first 2 months of launch and didn't get one.  Anyways, so, are you gonna tell me that ~10 million in 15 months through 2 holiday seasons worldwide is an impressive sales total?  Your 360 has a LONG ways to go before it reaches market-domination levels.  I'm not a SONY fan in the slightest, but at this point, it's obvious that the door is still wide open for SONY.

And Nintendo walked right through that door and shut it in MS's face.
