PS3 Slim first week sales for UK and Japan

According to Chart Track, in the UK the PS3 has sold 11 times more than that of the previous week putting it ahead of the 360 and Wii sales by a 3 - 1 ratio. According to Gamezine if all the numbers are added correctly this puts the sales of the PS3 slim around:

40,000 units sold in the UK

But even more impressive was Japan, as the PS3 sales crashed in Japan prior to the release of the PS3 slim due to the PS3 being out of stock as one point, and another of that being the wait for the PS3 slim. Well that market crash more than made up in numbers when the PS3 reached an astounding:

150,000 units sold in Japan

These sale numbers are based from Famitsu so they are pretty legit.

I thought sales stopped being relevant after Nintendo kicked everybody's asses?

Anyways, this is to be expected, seeing as there was a huge price drop and redesign of the console. I wonder how long this momentum will last.

Still, nothing has changed. Sony is still in last place and it will be tough for them to even surpass the 360.
