When the PS3 was first announced as $600 USD, gamers everywhere were very dissapointed. Thankfully, the PS3 Slim is only $300 (which is reasonable for a HD console with 120gb HDD and Blu-ray). Nowadays, for $470, you can now get a PS3 slim as well as a PSP slim. Or, you can get a PS3 slim plus a PSP-Go for $550. Depends on what you like.

What are your thoughts on this? Are those prices reasonable for a HD console, Blu-ray player AND a portable gaming system? With deals like that, I think Sony is giving Nintendo is a run for their money, since Wii + DSi cost like $420. For only a $50 saving, you have to sacrifice 5 years worth of graphics improvement, Blu-ray player, hardcore games, multimedia features, 120gb HDD, and loads more.

LOL. Hey, you'd make a LOT of money ;). Anyway, I agree that the PS3 is the best bang for my buck, but at the same time, most of those are features that I haven't asked for/ used. Although as a gaming system in itself, it's one impressive console.

Yep. And they'll hire anyone better than their own advertisers atm, and you convince me to buy a PS3 more than any Sony rep. (PS thats hypothetical cuz I already have a PS3 :P)

The ps3 was already the best bang for the buck when was $400.

The 120gb ps3 slim is the best eletronics deal I ever seen.

It is the ultimate device.

I like the move so far. If Sony can guarantee full backwards compatibility then they should sell like hotcakes

Yes in the US $470 for a PS3 and PSP is a good deal ... the PS3 is a fine machine and certainly deserves a look

However in the UK it's $644 for the same combo .... compared to say a 360 pro and an 8gb ipod touch for$495

Sony don't like us here in the UK
