Shipped = the same as sold
Let me explain:
Companies like Sony have manufacturing plants over seas.
Every time they ship out product, it goes to distribution facilities for many different retailers.
The stores buy product in bulk from companies like Sony, so they can put it in their retail stores and turn around and sell it to make a product.
Its a fairly simple system.
Always bear in mind that when stores receive product in on their trucks. They're not receiving it directly through the manufacturer, but through their own distribution facilities.
That's why when you go into a Best Buy and look at the Manufacture Date for a 360 it's always about 5-6 months behind.

shipped to retailers is not the same thing as them actually selling it to actual gamers.I heard from a reliable source that 2 million have been shipped but only 206 have been sold. XenoNinja
ROFL! Sony fanboys will be up in arms over this one.

But that means that by your argument the 360 sold well over 10 at the end of 2006 :)[QUOTE="JohnWinger"][QUOTE="Hir0_N"]Shipped.Omni-Slash

shipped to retailers is not the same thing as them actually selling it to actual gamers. And that does matter to developers.Apparently no one bothered to click on the link. It says 2 million SOLD worldwide.JayPee89Sony and MS only use Shipped numbers, their "sold" numbers are sold to retailers, only Ninty gives actual sold
Sony said when they shipped they mean sold so its 2 million sold.So if I say ...."when I say I'm married to my wife I mean to Angelina Jolie".....I'm actually married to Angelina Jolie?......sweet!.....

vgcharts has it at 1.86 million so far.solidtevgchart is wrong, the ps3 has barely passed 1 million. I'm still not sure if they did pass 1 million.
