Production of the 60GB has already stopped. The reason they're selling out so quickly is because Sony isn't making any more of them. They're replacing it with the 80GB.

It's going to be hiliarious if X360 overcomes PS3 sales in a month......

I mean it's great news for PS3 that it's actually selling now however this could slow down after a couple weeks. After all didn't the PS3 break records like the first couple days? After that..............

I believe what they are going to do is reduce the price of the bundle pk to $500. When that limited edition runs out, a new $399 sku will probably be released, 40 gig with no emotion chip.

Reason why I believe this will happen is because the 3rd party developer has already stated this won't be the last price cut this year. Why wouldn't Sony advertise this plan.....because it might hurt current sales since people might 1) wait for the cheaper bundle pk or 2) wait for the cheaper sku.

Essentially they are claiming ignorance much like they did even the day before they announced the price drop of $100 at E3.

Wow, lol. I can hardly believe it.

At actual game retailers, though (Gamestop, Gamecrazy), I usually see 2-3 used, and one new.

I hope there be plently of 60gb this christmass..

I'm pretty sure when they said they had supply for months, they didn't mean "weeks'. But yeah, you could be right. :roll:

After E3, this fall lineup, and whats to come in 2008. Nothing about the PS3 is dissapointing.

Perhaps when your 360 gets the red lights of death you'll appreciate the PS3's trustworthy hardware coupled with a great list of upcoming titles.

At my Target there were no Wii's, 360's, and about half a dozen PS3's. :| Almost the same story at Best Buy too. 0 Wii's, 2 360's, half a dozen or more PS3's. Impex

Why are people so freaking negative about any and everything that Sony does, are you thatlead by the nose of your particular console of choice that any good news that comes out about any company you bash just for the sake of bashing.

the only thing that will do that are good games -- and we're still waiting for them to hit for the PS3.

Then your Target sucks. Regardless of Wii or PS3 status, I always see 360s in Targets, Walmarts, Best Buy, etc.tonemd_basic

I always see them in my retailers as well but I live in New York. Nothing is really sold out in NYC. But I think this thread is focusing on the online stores being sold out.

Well, considering that retailers have over 2 million 60 gb PS3s, it think that we're good for a bit.

I got the last one at mt Wal-Mart. Came with a Click Blu-Ray for free :)

If only I could find a damn Ps2 Memory Card adapter...
