not sure if this was an april fool since it was posted on march 31 but it seems to be true.:P

i think that was more of a prediction, considering the sales patterns as of late.

i wouldn't be suprised if it comes to fruition, nevertheless.

fine point there, the userbase who uses a ps3 just for blu ray player probabaly cancels out those who bought a second 360 due to red ring, or close enough to

the same way broken ps2 helped boosting the sales of ps2 ,the same way rrod/broken 360 helped boosting the sales of 360, the difference is sony fanboys are saying the 1st part is true while ms fanboys dont agree with the 2nd .....

everyone knows ps3 will surpass 360 in the sales department in the cycle of this gen,ms can pull a new gen card though this year at e3 and win big,i dont see sony to come up with a new console for at least 3-4 years.ms will be competing with nintendo only for 2-3 years at least

Oh I read it, but Im pretty certain the gap between PS3 and 360 is similar in Japan just the other way around (given not as large a gap, but still a fair gap)

If those courts approve the settlement, gamers who have recently purchased, repaired, or lost the use of an affected PS2 are eligible to receive a check for $25 ($31 Canadian), a free PS2 game from a specified list, or a free or reduced cost repair or replacement (at SCEA's discretion) of an affected system.

So second gen consoles can end up with a bad rep of broken but at least the 360 was not so bad that Microsoft had to settle out in court which forcing them to pay console owners like what happened to Sony.

i hope the ps3 really is ahead, im onto my 3rd xbox 360 (other 2 got RROD) but i bought my PS3 on launch day and its still in working order for now!!!yummmmmmehhh

Microsoft's handling of the situation had more to do with why a similar situation didn't happen regarding the RROD issues. Microsoft's willingness to extend the warrenty of defective consoles countered a lot of issues that could of come from the situation. A design flaw more or less insured the massive failure rate of early Xbox 360's and without the Xbox 360's warrenty lawsuits would of followed.
