PS3 vs 360 sales 2007 onwards

It's known that the 360 leads the PS3 slightly in worldwide sales, but due to the fact that the xbox360 was released a year earlier, I'd be interested if anyone could tell me the sales of both once they'd both been released, say from 2007 onwards?

Apologies if this is common knowledge, or if there have been many similar threads.

360 sold 7 million is first year on the market. Given the same time frame the ps3 has sold more. its that simple

If you subtract the 360's year 1 sales the PS3 has outsold the 360 by about 2.3 million. Also with all the people buying new consoles after getting RRoD and other failures within the first 3 years of the 360 is why. If you could figure out how many 360s of the sales numbers are bought from people replacing units vs the same thing with PS3 then you would have the actual number of units out and working in homes of each console.

It's around 5.6 million lead for 360 right now and it sold around 8 million in its 1st year.

theguesstimation answer is if you don't count the 360s launch year the ps3 outsold it by around 3 or 4 million units.

Actually it obviously matters to him since he posted this thread.

I believe it's safe to say that the 360 only has the lead over PS3 because it launched without the PS3 or Wii launching at the same time.

Ps3 vs 360 sales june 2010 onwards.

360 wins, people can state the obvious anyway they want Ps3 has obviously sold more at some point or anotherbecause the 360's lead has shrunk.

I don't understand why people click on threads just to tell the person who asked a question that they don't care, while simultaneously completely ignoring the topic and bringing up a different situation.

Ignoring something and the question OP asked are two completely different things. If he was ignoring the 360's lead he wouldn't have posted this "It's known that the 360 leads the PS3 slightly in worldwide sales."

I know this is system wars but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I didn't look at OP's posting history but his question could be legitimate(although very easy to find out without asking here so it is suspicious) but almost all the responses were kind of defensive without actually answering his question.

Yeah that may be true but there credibility is down the drain. That's like saying gamestop sold 5 million copies of RDR but the fact is they only sold 5 because the other 4,999,995 were from buy and sell used. But just like MS they'll take the figures and make it seem like there doing a hell of a job.ItsBriskBaby
