Right, because a massively parallel processor coupled with high memory bandwith to the GPU and rasterisers would obviously not make it a beast at procedural texture generation.

Not that is even matters in practicality, the PS3 has enough storage not to need proceduraly generated textures.

Exactly, there is consistently a difference between the PS3 and a PC with an 8800GTS. DX10 + 96 Stream Processors + Higher Res Screen Resolution + More Polys being rendered etc...> RSX + Cell

Dude we get it PS3 is a great console but face it hardware wise is weak ( for crying out loud it only has 256mb of ram as opposed to 2-4gb for a $400-500 pc). The hardware on pd3 was designed in 2004 2005 you think is more powerfull from a pc with a cpu and a vga that got designed in 2007 2008 or 2009?

its easy, because of the programer optimization. for example oblivion looks pretty good in 7900gt but fallout 3wont look as good in 7900gt. nowa game likeRAGE will look fine in 8800gt and will look fine in ps3, but itwont look that good on a 7900gt. later on games will look worse on 8800gt than in a ps3. sorry im not a native english speaker
