I don't want to start a war, and I'm definitely not trying to compare systems, but I want to point out something about almost every comparison video I have ever seen.
There is a setting on the PS3 called "RGB" and you can switch it to "full" or "limited." Full expands the color range and makes the blacks darker, whereas the limited setting of course limits them for TVs that cannot handle it, so if you were to put that setting on your high dollar HDTV it would look very washed out. The PS3 come with the setting "limited" as default. I'm not sure why, but it does.
The Xbox 360 has this same setting, although it's called something else, and it comes set to "full" by default. Every comparison video I have ever seen has had the PS3 setting on "limited" and of course the Xbox setting to "full" or whatever it's called. Of course that is the default setting for both machines, but it's hardly fair. So if someone says that the PS3 version looks "washed out," that's because it is set to be that way in the XMB.
