"But because of cost-of-goods and, you know, people have to have the PlayStation Eye camera as well, we are approaching the launch by making sure that all games that we create can be played with one controller and the camera. We will also introduce options for if you happen to have more than one controller available. Experiences will be enhanced if you purchase a second."

Eurogamer.

Oh, mini games galore, here we come! Oh, and perhaps some on-rails shooters. But one as complex as Dead Space Extraction is out....

I really don't like the idea of being forced to buy a second controller.

I think the games should be more on the casual end myself. Hardcore and core gamers are already covered.

Guess, that kicks the wand into the fail space where Natal lives.

Suppose It'll still be good for Strategy games, rpg's and point'n'clicks.

That's pretty disappointing, but understandable. It's the same with the Wiimote. The possibilities of a game that uses two MotionPlus units! But it will never happen, and if it would happen, it wouldn't sell.

There's at least one FPS coming out for WM+ in the close future. We can't say the same about this... my hopes of Sony delivering the best controller ever are now officially shattered, since now this is inferior to the wiimote+ & Nunchuck combo.....

I have to agree with you and hopefully this will result in them making it better for the PS4

For many it would be a third controller. But if it makes gaming experience better then I don't mind.

As long as the controllers aren't THAT expensive. If they are over $30 then there will be a problem.

That'll be disappointing to most people interested in it, I guess. I already have a PSEye, so I'll just buy an extra one instead of having to buy the controller + camera bundle.

Filthybastrd

How does that end up in the same space as Natal?

Natal doesn't require you to buy a second controller and an Eyetoy.

You just have Natal.

And who said Sony wont bundle the eyetoy with the wand they are not that stupid to sell each one alone.

Bwahahah, +1. As for the wand itself, hey, if there's enough use for it, people will buy it and enjoy it. Natal > Wand

I don't think the fail will come out of the purchase of controllers... it'll come if crappy games are released to play with them (my stand on the Wii as well)

I'm looking at this like I'm looking at Natal, WHEN AAA quality games come out that use these acessories, then I'll consider getting them, untill then, I'm not even paying much attention.

only bad thing is, sony tends to just leave projects hanging and just forget about them after we buy them. i already got the eye so i guess another 40 bucks for the wand wont be to much to risk. but those who dont have it yet it might not be worth taking a gamble untill sony proves it will support it longer then a year.

Motion controls are the future of casual gaming if Sony wants to take some of the Wii marketshare they should support it will and I think they will.

i like how at e3 everyone was like "the PSMC and Natal are gonna kill Wii!!!!!!!"

now everyone realises without analog sticks, buttons, etc you can't play anything that really isn't on rails, or isn't a minigame, i think Burnout is the furtherest extent of Natal working, and using Milo in RPGs is about as far fetched and game worthy as using the Wii Vitality Sensor to measure your heart beat during Horror games.

Wii with Wii Motion Plus gets this same level of accuracy and adds an analog stick and buttons

Its sort of like everything this gen. Add ons, extra DLC, online, subcriptions, water, everything has it's own little price. Nothing really new.

See this will fail, but I can't say the same for Natal, ... if you've played say.. banjo nuts and bolts, you can see how natal would greatly aid a game like that, with the building aspects and putting together machine models and contraptions. You couldn't you your fingers with the PS3 wands to put together a model and then race it. Natal you could. THey are very different technologies, and I think natal will have the edge in the end.

I rarely use Home, but I will still get this along with Project Natal 'cause they look fun.

Motion technology can really compliment current games just like rumble.

Actually its Dead on ArrivalJustinge3

If there is no proper support and software-same could be said about Project Natal.

Though I have to admit I am more interested in the menu functionality and controls then any of the games initially.

If Project Natal is implemented well with the motion controls in menus for Windows 7 and Xbox360 I will definately get both

I want to start living in the future like Minority Report or as close to it as possible.

I wasn't interested in the wand when i found out there is no anolog. I'm kind of interested in Natal, but it has a lot of issues, for me. It doesn't have anything to hold, andI don't see how you can have any good games for it.

I'm going to direct you to this blog; http://www.ninjapirate.com/content.php?f=sort.html Anyway, I can't see myself using the Wand or Natal in the near future. Seeing that handball thing with Natal at E3 was just hysterical. If there are games that look good/play good/are good then I might buy the peripherals. I don't know when the idea of controllers became so outdated, but I'll still be using that as my main source of entertainment from my video game consoles.

the price is where ps3wand fails(well natal too but thread is about ps3), even if they bundle the eyetoy with it i would expect it to be at least $75(2 wands and eyetoy),

2beers_in_hand

yeah since they suck so much and sold in the millions with proper software support- Nintendo Wii and MIcrosoft and Sony are following suite.

Yeah Motion control technology mumbo jumbo.

This just shows some gamers age.

Probably the same thing was said about rumble.

I always thought that gamers naturally were at the forefront of technology and more open to try and pioneer it, but some gamers act like old men "What this fancy watzamicgimick....."
