I own PS3 and 360, but we have to face facts here okay. Think about it, PS3 sold 4.5 million systems with a price tag of 600 dollars:shock:, what game console has done that/could have done that. The 360 has been 300-400 dollars now for nearly 2 years, and all it sold is 10 million. PS3 is 600 and has been out for 8 months and sold 4.5 mil, thats impressive. The thing is that PS3 still doesn't have any good exclusives out yet besides Motorstorm and Resistance. The Wii is selling greatly now, but I'm concerned for its future, I mean at E3, their biggest annoucement was Wii-Fit:(, Nintendo seems to have forgotten about the hardcore gamer and that will be their folly IMO. PS3 is the best value IMO, thats why it outsold 360 ata higher pricetag with "no games". All these systems are great though and will have awesome games coming.
I didn't see any facts in your post. Explain to me how having a $600 price tag somehow means your sales are better? That has to be the worst damage control i've ever seen.
The only fact is, Nintendo was smart to have a cheap console and soon the 360 will be as cheap.
It is pretty clear that the only thing holding PS3 sales is the price. Remember, there are 100+million PS2 owners waiting for PS3 price drops. Sony can conquer this gen with a lower price.
If u think playing from behind for most of 07 and 08. is winning easily then your crazy. Sony will probably beat MS by like 10-20 million at best. But will be destroyed by the Wii. overall the 360 and Wii will cut into SOnys market, cost them domination and cost them possible 3rd party exclusives that will either go somewhere else, or go multiplat.
PS3 is going to be far behind the Wii and 360 by the end of this holiday considering all of its big guns are 08 games. 08 is going to be a big turnaround for Sony, but they have dug themselves a huge hole.
Also 360 is getting its price drop this year. Its going to be a long 07 for Sony.

The PS3 has a killer line-up this Fall. I don't know why people keep saying that 08 is going to be great. In fact, the PS3 has most exclusives coming out this Fall.

I don't see how the Wii can continue dominating, they don't even get decent multiplats. I grew up playing nintendo, but they changed since the SNES days. They rely on the same characters and recycle instead of making new games. Another thing why is it that since the SNES days, Nintendo makes one major game out of a franchise then waits until the next gen to make another one while giving spinoffs for the rest of the generation. For example, Mario Galaxy will be the only real Mario game coming to the Wii, then it'll be Mario spinoffs until the next console. Nintendo did the same thing with Donkey Kong on the N64. Where is Donkey Kong Country:cry:, those are some of my fav games of all time and nintendo seems to have forgot about it. Nintendo isn't the same:cry:

leipzig is supposed to be quite a show for sony this year according to reeves. I would've been cynical but after this years E3 i think Sony now what they're doing, they NEEd to whip out Eight days, heavenly sword, Heavy rain. I'm guessing these could be part of the 6-7 sony exclusives as "impressive asKZ2" according to reeves.

The fact is that it sold 4.5 mil at a 600 dollar pricetag. It just went to 500 dollars and then past 360s sales. Imagine what will happen when PS3 is 400 dollars.8)
I find the TC's statement to be hard to believe since 3.5mil of the ps3's sales were last year(launch). it's only managed 1 million in 6 months. the wii is getting 1 million a month.

Wii failing =/= PS3 winning There is another console out there after all.
I do think that its strange that people are so eager to dismiss the ps3 as a failure. People even compare it to the 3do. Truth is that it's at least very well designed with good games. It has already outclassed all the consoles we would consider failures such as the Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, 3DO, 32x/SegaCD, Jaguar, etc. (1st three actually really great consoles, but failed to live up to expectation). The psp has already outclassed the game gear and the linx. Sony's future still looks bright
On the other hand, the Wii has had eight games become million sellers, while in the same time span the PS3 has only had two games reach that sales level. The "PS3 wins the gen" argument depends on how early Sony can get that price tag down - while it's telling that many people are willing to purchase the PS3 "at a high price" (re4 merchant voice for the fun...) there's no guarantee Sony will get that price down in time, or that sales will ever increase to the point of passing the competition if things continue as they have been.
Remember - Sony themselves said they would sell their first five million systems no matter what - they basically implied games and price wouldn't matter for those initial sales, and right now I'm inclined to agree with them.
The PS3 is going to be an interesting platform in a few months - it will have a larger library of quality titles, but still fewer than the 360 - which it remains in competition with due to the types of games that are coming out. It's really lost the support in Japan, which is most concerning, because it has really lost the strengths the PS1 / PS2 had - Japanese games, low price, mass market appeal, and system selling games.
Sony has to work the hardest of anyone - they have to beat the Wii in Japan, they have to at least compete with the 360 in America, and they have to get their price down in Europe / Australia (well everywhere, but overseas especially) and they have to do it all with audiences with different tastes in games, a system that bleeds money, and publishers who aren't keen to hand them exclusives.
While there are some great games coming to the PS3, it's trying to run uphill during an avalanche right now...
