PS3 won't outsell the 360 or Wii again in November

Everyone is claiming that this price drop is going to fix all of Sony's problems. Sony themselves have bosted that sales increased 192% since the price drop. Lets work the numbers here:

October NPD

Wii - 519k 360 - 366k PS3 - 184k

Now you have to understand that to begin with you always have a big spike in sales in November.But just for the sake of argument lets just assume the sales numbers stay exactly the same except the PS3's increasednumbers:

Wii - 519k 360 - 366k PS3- 354k

The PS3is doomed for the remainder of 2007 and at least a few months into 2008.

eventhough i don't think the ps3 will beat the 360 or the Wii you gotta redo your math. you just calcuated the increase but didn't add it to the base amount. so its 354 + 184. 100% increase is double, 192% is almost triple. That's a little more than 500k, I think last year xbox 360 sold that amount in nov. The Wii's biggest problem is they can't make enough. They won't sell a million if they can't make a million consoles.

Maybe because when the PS3 launched last year it was towards the end of the month and the 360 was out since 2005 so it had that whole month to come up with sales while PS3 only had a percentage of that month to come up with sales.

Also do not give the year head start excuse. The hype for PS3 at launch was crazy. On Ebay PS3 went for $4,000 at PS3 launch. It is more a factor that the gamers know that the 360 is a better console. It is also the reason why PS3 has never sold more then the 360 on NPD ever.

Still you can't compare a system that has been out to a system that just launched. Thats like comparing a PS2 to a 360 back in November 2005.In 2005 and 2006 PS2 outsold 360 in November so I fail to see how what i'm saying is a excuse. I'm saying a system that has been out will always sell more then a system which just launched which is true, considering most early adopters are hardcore gamers anyways.

They said the combined sales of the 40 and 80 GB models had increased by 192% compared to only God knows when, so I guess they're doing pretty bad overall. The PS3 will sell less than 300k during november, maybe even close to 200k.
