The 360 sold badly last year and then had a good Xmas. The PS3 is selling badly this year and we wait to see what kind of Xmas it will have.

Both systems have very similar sales to that of the GC, for there first year. That isn't what I would call good.

The real kicker for PS3 is the lack of software it is selling.

Cows act as if they're getting Sony paychecks in the mail when they defend the PS3. 1, if you're admitting its selling with no games then what does that say about your purchase? That you were brilliant enough to buy an overpriced PS3 and have no good software on it? Also, with the PS3 keeping pace you do realise that won't help them catch up. In fact, considering last years holiday 360 sales if the PS3 can't match that they will be behind again. Even if the PS3 went neck and neck with the 360 in sales this year, which won't happen, they are still nearly 6 million behind. Another 360 price cut, the eventual announcement of Gears 2, and probably Halo 4 in 2009 just won't let the PS3 catch up no matter what in 2008. It will have a great year but leapfrog the 360 six million system lead... only an idiot would see that.

I think the point is that games aren't everything to consumers. From hardware reliability to features, and perhaps attachment to to-be-released installments of old franchises, the PS3 makes up for its lineup and price in other areas to the eyes of consumers. Personally, I think it makes sense. There are games for the PS3, believe it or not, and many of them are very good. All in all, it's a matter of taste. What isn't a matter of taste is defective hardware, and it astonishes me that the 360 sold that well on defective hardware. That, to me, is more inexcusable than selling well without what game reviewers deem to be the cream of the crop in games, which I tend to disagree with pretty often. *sigh* chrono cross....

A Blu-ray player is also a big selling point for the HD market.

Edit: ah yes, price is one thing, and value is another. No HD-DVD player on the 360, and 50$ subscription fee for XBL. The 360 sells on a more barebones package, which would naturally make it less expensive. Overpriced is something the PS3 isn't. Expensive yes. Looking at the hardware alone, there's no question that it's the 360 that's overpriced, but a bigger, and more acclaimed library makes up for it.

theres usally a 250K unit gap btween the 360 and the ps3 last moth it was like 400K

in euope the 360 is outselling it 2 to 1

and in japan the ps3 is only outselling the 360 by 6K weekly

Anyways..i'm just speaking for myself here...but I bought a gaming console to play games. If you guys bought a gaming console so that you can spend your efforts justifying it's sales despite it's ADMITTED lack of games, than I guess that is what floats your boat. All I'm saying is I'd rather actually HAVE games than be able to say that my console is selling well without games.

The xbox360 premium is about $350 right now...if you think that is overpriced than that is your opinion...and my opinion is that is absolutly reasonably priced.

And i'm going by what other Sony fans have said in this thread...they said themselves that the PS3 has no games, so it's not like I made that up myself.

And do I need to point out that not only has the PS3 been dead last in sales for pretty much ever month (in many cases, handhelds included), but there is also a mighty fine article posted on the GAMESPOT main page about the PS3's "DISMAL" sales.

Perhaps I've just been spoiled...(the 360has 3 AAA titles in the last 3 months)...but I wouldn't trade a console WITH games for a console WITHOUT games just so I could post fancy graphs on Internet forums.

lol the TC himself said the ps3 has no games....you cows need to get your act together. Besides...how does future games show that the PS3 has games now? I don't think current ps3 sales can be attributed to future game releases.

I'd also like to point out that a few of those games you posted have NOT been confirmed for 2008, so for you to now allow any talks of Gears of War 2 are completly biased to what you want to hear and what you don't want to hear. You either allow non-confirmed games to be discussed or you don't...but don't break your own rules and expect people not to notice.

Who wants to buy crappy ports?? If third parties is really concern about the sales they should bulid the game ground up on the PS3, and port it to the 360 it be more easier on them. It will help them to stop delaying the games and get more sales. I am still waiting for The Orange Box, and now i feel like i don't want it at the moment because Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted Drakess Fortune will be coming out soon. PS3 owners don't just dump money on any games like Lemmings seem to be doing..They wait for big games..Also, you know how expensive the PS3 is through out the year?? some people can only afford the system and not games..It be different now since Sony announced the 40GB SKU, and dropped the price for the 60gb, and 80GB by 100 dollars. Let me get this straight, your happy about this???

Well, lets just see........didn't the Playstation Brand have roughly 5 to 1 users over the Xbox brand???

If this graph shows anything at all, is that either the XBOX brand has increased 5 fold, or the Playstation brand decreased 5 fold.

This is absolutely horrid sales for Sony, the leader in the last 2 generations. No matter how you spin this, this is pathetic sales for a company that sold 115 million PS2's last gen. This is a definate success for Microsoft, and a dismal failure by Sony.

Folklore is all about taste i personally love it..I read some reviews some of them given the game 8 and 9..All the games i listed will most likely come out in 2008 ..Even if its just 5 games coming out ,but it will still be enough for 2008 ..The xbox360 don't have no games in 2008..Microsoft dont even have a game plan next year..They seem to rely only on third party games..

I dont why lemmings is so pathetic there is a lot of people waiting for the big hitters to come out. And saying future games dont have a big impact isn't bright.

wow...that line is terrible. Ps3 gamers are buying 6-hours of Heavenly Sword with no multiplayer, Motorstorm (which flopped), Lair which was disgraceful, and Resistance which humbled all of the cows who thought it would destroy Gears of War.

On the flip side, in the last 3 months I've boughten Bioshock, Halo 3, and The Orange Box...all of them are easily AAA titles on gamerankings.com and were AAA's here as well. Halo 3 has outscored any exclusive on any other next-gen console.

Who wants to buy crappy ports?? If third parties is really concern about the sales they should bulid the game ground up on the PS3, and port it to the 360 it be more easier on them. It will help them to stop delaying the games and get more sales. I am still waiting for The Orange Box, and now i feel like i don't want it at the moment because Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted Drakess Fortune will be coming out soon. PS3 owners don't just dump money on any games like Lemmings seem to be doing..They wait for big games..Also, you know how expensive the PS3 is through out the year?? some people can only afford the system and not games..It be different now since Sony announced the 40GB SKU, and dropped the price for the 60gb, and 80GB by 100 dollars. Folklore is all about taste i personally love it..I read some reviews some of them given the game 8 and 9..All the games i listed will most likely come out in 2008 ..Even if its just 5 games coming out ,but it will still be enough for 2008 ..The xbox360 don't have no games in 2008..Microsoft dont even have a game plan next year..They seem to rely only on third party games..

wow...that line is terrible. Ps3 gamers are buying 6-hours of Heavenly Sword with no multiplayer, Motorstorm (which flopped), Lair which was disgraceful, and Resistance which humbled all of the cows who thought it would destroy Gears of War.

after this holiday season you have to compare the 360 sales in 1yr vs the PS3 sales in 1yr as well. The 360 is over 11 million units in its second year, and I think it had around 7million units in its first year. The PS3 is at around 4-5 million in its first year. Its going to be REAL hard for them to catch up
