So you think the PS3 will "turn around" when it starts getting big titles by next year?karicha9
there are plenty of good games coming out this year. im not going to freakin list their entire line up dude... i listed a few at the top of my head quickly... get a clue

ok system wars is getting ridiculous with anti-ps3 statements lately. more so than the usual you often see here..is this because the european launch is close at hand? why are people saying all these negative things so soon...shouldnt they wait after the launch to comment? they may be setting themselves for ownage. also the really important question i want to raise.... Did eveyrone forget about the crap load of people holding out on a PS3 until the good heavy titles come out? Can people honestly say the ps3 has begun its reign without their main titles? People in here need to develop some sense. All I can say is expect a turn around when the good games come out...what do you think games like FFs, mgs4, dmc4, gt5, tekken 6, etc are not gonna sell ps3s at all? get a clue fanboys and expect a sales boost whent he heavy hitters come out. I would like to conclude that I am one of those people who will be buying a ps3 as soon as these games come out just like the so many people i know. It's more because Sony and the PS3 keeps flopping harder and harder every day. There's just so much material to use, the latest being PS3's crap NDP sales figures.

There were already titles released that were hyped. In fact, this month was supposed to be killer for the PS3. Yet, nothing.
Sony already made themselves late to the party. If you expect a quick turnaround close to a year after launch, you've got something coming. Sony has very little hope of establishing dominance like it has with the PS2. In my book, such a loss in market share can only be looked at as failure.

I read your original post, I saw those titles. There has to be more than those 5 or 6. Thats not a whole lot to tidy taste over the span of a generation.

While you live in the hope of the future, the rest of us see the present, where PS3 units are not selling at all. It isn't even competitive in Japan. There's not much to be optimistic about.

thats ur opinion and thats ok...but MILLIONS would disagree with you as these are some of the best selling games period... gt sales > halo sales just to let you know... I love both of them but I need to make that kind of comparison to knock some sense into ppl like you...

ya, it's just sad that there are alot of people who can't use common sense... they think ps3 is already dead... it's weird because..are they compeletely ignorante of the fact that it hasnt even launched worldwide yet? are they ignorant of the fact that their main franchises have yet to be released? All I know is that ps3 will have an impact soon to come. it would just be cool if most of the people in here were open minded and grasped common knowledge... if so, we would definately have more relevant debates around here. :(

Haha nope, was hyped AAA... I'm not a fanboy but I don't like people changing history. I saw AAA so many freaking times. And the whole Motorstorm as part of lists of system sellers...sorry it was hyped AAA

The problem for Sony is that MS hasn't even really begun to roll out its big guns yet either and they've still sold 10,000,000. The only really big game released by Microsoft so far has been GOW. Once Forza 2, Mass Effect, Too Human, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, and of course the mighty Halo 3 arrive you can expect that 10 million figure to have pretty much doubled. That's all potential PS3 customers being snatched away by MS. Sony would be able to get away with releasing mediocre games for a year and holding their big guns if there was little to no competition (like they did with the PS2) but by the time they release the big guns this gen it may already be too late (in a similar way that the PS2 was way to in front by the time the xbox released.)

I would like to conclude that I am one of those people who will be buying a ps3 as soon as these games come out just like the so many people i know. All I can say is to use common sense and expect a huge turn around....NutJobJimOf course, this is obvious. The problem for Sony is that MS hasn't even really begun to roll out its big guns yet either and they've still sold 10,000,000. The only really big game released by Microsoft so far has been GOW. Once Forza 2, Mass Effect, Too Human, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, and of course the mighty Halo 3 arrive you can expect that 10 million figure to have pretty much doubled. That's all potential PS3 customers being snatched away by MS. Sony would be able to get away with releasing mediocre games for a year and holding their big guns if there was little to no competition (like they did with the PS2) but by the time they release the big guns this gen it may already be too late (in a similar way that the PS2 was way to in front by the time the xbox released.)

REally though, sony has more known franchises than MS with halo being the exception. what i mean is the average consumer is more likely to recognize the franchises on the sony platform. I will be getting forza 2, mass effect, bioshock, blue dragon, and halo 3 for sure...but out of all those...the average consumer wont recognize those games except for again, halo 3. forza 2 actually has some good history now though so i'll add that along side with halo 3 as being very well known.

Yeah I'd agree that Sony has the better known games but this is where the beauty of aggressive advertising/marketing by MS comes into play. GOW was a new IP and that still sold 4 million copies in a few months partly thanks to clever marketing/hype by MS. Expect all the other MS games to similarly be marketed so that they become well known to the average consumer. At the moment MS has a huge advantage. the console was out over a year earlier it has an install base almost 10 times larger than the PS3 and its coming into its strongest year yet games wise, if MS are smart and advertise the 360 and all its new games well (which they can afford to do) then Sony is going to be fighting a losing battle for at least a couple of years.

ya, it's just sad that there are alot of people who can't use common sense... they think ps3 is already dead... it's weird because..are they compeletely ignorante of the fact that it hasnt even launched worldwide yet? are they ignorant of the fact that their main franchises have yet to be released? All I know is that ps3 will have an impact soon to come. it would just be cool if most of the people in here were open minded and grasped common knowledge... if so, we would definately have more relevant debates around here. :(
Well I have a ps3 and an xbox 360 and its funny because I have gears of war, rainbow six vegas, perfect dark zero, oblivion, 99 nights, kameo, ghost recon, call of duty 2 and 3 and madden 2007 for my xbox 360 and I have gotten bored of all them besides rainbow six vegas, I love that game online, and for my ps3 I have motorstorm, resistance fall of man, virtua fighter 5, formula one, call of duty 3, genji, flow, need for speed carbon, and tekken 5, and I gotta say even since launch when I got my ps3 I still have alot more fun playing RFOM online then any of these other games and now motorstorm, because there is nothing like that on the xbox 360, and I love call of duty 3 aswell, but rfom is alot funner in my mind, cant wait for the new maps and updates and more people. I am having alot more fun with my ps3 and these are not even my favorite games on sony, the titles im waiting for are mgs4, devil may cry 4, gran turismo 5, ff13, ff13 vs, kingdom hearts 3, killzone 2, heavenly sword, ninja gaiden sigma, warhawk, and many other titles, so people should understand where this OP is coming from, its still early and for u to say sony is dead, is just nonesense. Give it a year out in the market and with every area covered and I promise u wont be saying the same thing after there big franchise games hit. Then u can do all your talking if the system is still a flop den. Till den game on :)

very well said. I cant wait for those titles. The franchises that sony will be releasing are my favorite games out of any. every single title you named are the ones im waiting for plus tekken 6.... im just a little skeptical about warhawk and killzone 2... i hope killzone 2 turns out good. I still have my ninja gaiden for xbox but Im sure sigma will have alot of new stuff...plus i love that game! my most anticipated title though is easily mgs4... that game is gonna set the standard for action/espionage watch!
The PS3 will probably sell out the first weeks in Europe just like in North America but after the hardcore people that would buy it even if it was $1000 have it and supply is back they will just be sitting on the selves. Europe will not save the PS3. It's so far behind they will never catch up. Cory2K6I agree they are far behind thanks to its asking price. However with a fanbase as big as Sony I think they will catch up in 2years.

Well killzone was a good game, alot of ppl didnt give it a chance because of halo but the original killzone was an all around good game, the only bad thing was the online, and u know ps2 wasnt really all dat online, but I think with the ps3, the online service will be alot better and I look for killzone 2 to comeback strong, I loved the first one and I think the second will live up to its expectations, I dunno about a halo killer, but I think it will be a great game. And I totally agree with u about MGS4, that game is the most anticipated game to me even more then halo 3 because I know kojima will not dissappoint us, and we know his storyline telling is alwayz gonna leave us amazed. That game alone in my book is worth buying the system. I look for snake to finish off MGS4 wit a bang and I cant wait to play it. Till den game on peepz. :)
