ps3s secondary features vs 360s secondary features. If you say you bought gaming systems for games (really I couldn't have guessed) you fail because this thread is a comparison between the extra stuff.

I think almost everybody will agree that a BR player is better than any secondary feature the 360 has.

Depends. I prefer the Blu-Ray to somethings, but the 360 is better at streaming things from my PC, and I still get use from the HD-DVD, so to me, it would be a toss up between the two, TBH.

Really? I always found the PS3 beater at streaming content from my PC. The only problem I ever found was that some of my video files were a type not supported by the PS3,but I think I had that same problem with the 360.Not to mention RemotePlay,I think the PS3 has the best streaming abilities.

For some reason, most of my files won't play on PS3, but play fine on 360. I dunno why, they are supposed to be supported formats, but since one does it, it does not bother me too much.

I could never get media sharing to work through my router on Ps3. And unfortunately Windows media center is super slow on 360.

So I just hooked my computer to my 37" screen and eliminated the issue :P

Blu ray may be supperior to DVD in every way, but I still would rather have a DVD player. You can burn your own DVD's pretty easily, you have to BUY blue rays, for like 30$ each. And nothing really requires 50gb of space. Blu ray is just a superflous gadget that might become useful in the future

Yeah, I buy my entertainment, I don't pirate it, so burning Blu-Rays is not that important to me.

Blu ray burners. They make them.

And I am not sure if you are refering to pirating movies with this sort of thing. But I will stay on the right side of the TOU here and just say that Hd content is available.

I don't think anyone will argue that 30 dollars is a good price point. It is like saying 60 dollars is perfect for any game.

However, most blu rays I have bought I have gotten from amazon for no more than 15 dollars. Which is less than a new DVD release in some places.

Well i used to own a PS3 before i traded it for an X360. Personally, In my opinion the 360 is far superior to the PS3 in terms of secondary features. Allow me to list what 360 secondary features i like.

1. Ingame Music

2. Stream HD Media from my Mac to my 360

3. Ingame Communication

4. Far Superior Onine Service.

5. Netflix - HELLZ YEAH!

Personally, I want my console not only to play games but to be a media center aswell. And the X360 Allows me to do that. It was FAR easier for me to setup a media center using connect360 than it was for me to setup a media center on a PS3. Just to say I am a hardcore gamer i just enjoy having access to ALL my media from one place as opposed to having music on an iPod dock, Games on a x360 and videos on a laptop.

Blu-Ray movies are much better than DVD movies if you have a nice set up. Big Screen HD TV, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system. Blu-Ray movies are insane if you have a nice set up, its like your in a movie theater. Blu-Ray's picture quality is so clear and its sound quality is perfect. imo, XBL isn't much better than PSN. Its just more professional and straight forward.

They said vhs was better because you could record tv shows simply by sticking a blank tape in and pushing record. Bluray has dvd backlward compadibility and better sound and video so ppl dont have to be scared.

4. Far Superior Onine Service. No just no/Yes. Just Yes. I suffered from heavy lag when i was on the psn service. But if it works for you than i am happy for you.

5. Netflix - HELLZ YEAH! ps3 Internet browser with hulu, youtube, ect > netflix/ Umm.. Why would i want to go on youtube for Quality entertainment. Netflix offers up new movies that i can enjoy at the click of a button. Youtube on the other hand is nothing more than a couple of six year olds screaming at each other over Nintendo 64's. But i respect your opinion if you would rather use Hulu/Utube as opposed to netflix.

[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"] How do you stream music to the PS3 ingame? I have only been able to do it in select PS3 games. Am I missing it?SpruceCaboose

I think they just added it last update, maybe you have to start the music and then start the game

Hmmm.... I'll check later. Playing PSP ATM.

Im at my dads house, nothing worth playing here

I think almost everybody will agree that a BR player is better than any secondary feature the 360 has.

SpruceCaboose

Depends. I prefer the Blu-Ray to somethings, but the 360 is better at streaming things from my PC, and I still get use from the HD-DVD, so to me, it would be a toss up between the two, TBH.

How is your 360 better at streaming things from your pc, I think the ps3 is less of a hassle and can handle more formats

But I guess it just depends on everyones setup

Well i used to own a PS3 before i traded it for an X360. Personally, In my opinion the 360 is far superior to the PS3 in terms of secondary features. Allow me to list what 360 secondary features i like.

1. Ingame Music Ps3 has it

2. Stream HD Media from my Mac to my 360 ps3 can do that too from any media servernot limited to windows media center

3. Ingame Communication we have text messages and 16 ppl text chat

4. Far Superior Onine Service. No just no

5. Netflix - HELLZ YEAH! ps3 Internet browser with hulu, youtube, ect > netflix

[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="blingchu55"] Blu ray may be supperior to DVD in every way, but I still would rather have a DVD player. You can burn your own DVD's pretty easily, you have to BUY blue rays, for like 30$ each. And nothing really requires 50gb of space. Blu ray is just a superflous gadget that might become useful in the futureblingchu55
Yeah, I buy my entertainment, I don't pirate it, so burning Blu-Rays is not that important to me.

Sorry we can't all pay 30$ for a movie

stop complaining little kid, if you can pay 60 for a game you can pay the standard 26 for a movie

Like I said, PS3 won't stream anything. Everything gets "Format not supported", but it works fine on the 360. If it works for you, awesome, but it doesn't for me.

Im not willing to pay 26$ for 2 and a half hours of entertainment. Maybe 10$ to go to the theatre for a big movie(i saw dark knight, twice!) but other than that, no deal!(i would have payed for predator, but it was on tv)

1. Ingame Music Ps3 has it/I didn't know... I was just judging from the last time i had a PS3. Not all games have in game music but the newer games do.

2. Stream HD Media from my Mac to my 360 ps3 can do that too from any media servernot limited to windows media center/Ok you win this one.

3. Ingame Communication we have text messages and 16 ppl text chat/TEXT being the key word here. On the 360 we have voice communication in-game. You can chat with friends in game if you have a headset. You can make a chat room but not in game yet.

4. Far Superior Onine Service. No just no/Yes. Just Yes. I suffered from heavy lag when i was on the psn service. But if it works for you than i am happy for you. Heavy Lag ?? thats weird. If your referring to slow downloads, that not lag, thats just PSN.

5. Netflix - HELLZ YEAH! ps3 Internet browser with hulu, youtube, ect > netflix/ Umm.. Why would i want to go on youtube for Quality entertainment. Its also updated every week with new releases but its only avalible in the US.

1. Ingame Music Ps3 has it/I didn't know... I was just judging from the last time i had a PS3. Ps3 only has it on select titles, so I don't really count it as having it

2. Stream HD Media from my Mac to my 360 ps3 can do that too from any media servernot limited to windows media center/Ok you win this one.

3. Ingame Communication we have text messages and 16 ppl text chat/TEXT being the key word here. On the 360 we have voice communication in-game. Voice Beats Text chat >.> but their is in game normal chat so ehhh its fine

4. Far Superior Onine Service. No just no/Yes. Just Yes. I suffered from heavy lag when i was on the psn service. But if it works for you than i am happy for you. I usually get less lag on psn opposed to XBL, and since you probably have wifi on ps3 and wired 360 that would explain it.

Netflix costs money and sucks, JHulu and you tube are freee and suck so I don't even count this as a features but on to the next point.

6. Internet Browser on ps3, Rocks

Personally, I want my console not only to play games but to be a media center aswell. And the X360 Allows me to do that. I think the ps3 is easier to navigate and to use media, you don't have to click so many things and my 360 usually always gives me problems with my router, and the 360 media center extender feature is useless, also the ps3 has more features while streaming like scene skipping at timed intervals of your choice

I don't buy bad games, except for maybe Gears 2, but that was because I kept it to long from blockbuster
