PS4 and XBOX ONE first year titles unlikely to look better than GOW Ascension

PS3 is actually quite a powerful console, and the Cell Processor was eventually tapped into completely as shown by the stunning graphics in God of War Ascension and God of War 3. For the first year of their life cycle, it is unlikely that the next gen consoles (PS4 and XBOX ONE) will have games with better graphics than God of War Ascension or even God of War 3. This is because development for the PS3 has been fully optimized, whereas the PS4 and XBOX ONE will be too new for any majorly optimized games. Not that graphics matter that much anyways, but I just wanted to point this out.

God of War Ascension was such a stunning game, but there are launch titles that already look better.  KZ:SF and Infamous SS are so far ahead its not even funny.

Both those games are very new and not at all taking advantage of the PS4's full power. GOW 2 HD remaster 720p. PS2 version is much worse at 480p so I'm being very kind here.

Now Infamous 2nd Son 1080p

I'm pretty sure I love gow3 / gowa graphics more than you do but this is not even comparable in a 50miles radius.

That game has very good graphics. Not better than GOW Ascension or GOW 3, but maybe comparable graphics. Still, it's not coming out until Fall 2014, which proves what I said correct (i.e. one year after console launch).

Shadow Fall not only looks way better but runs at 1080... so no.

Clearly you're mistaking your love for GoWs artistic style with technical proficiency.  The GoW games aren't even the best looking games on current consoles, technically speaking and they will be destroyed by PS4/X1 games immediately.

This is silly. God of War Ascension has great art direction and some really massive set-pieces, but in technical terms it isn't even the best looking current gen console game, let alone compare to PC games or next gen console games.

Battlefield 4

...and basically any of the other next gen games that have been announced are all much more graphically advanced than God of War Ascension.

No, it most certainly does not.  The textures, shaders and poly count are all much more advanced in the Infamous Second Son shot.
