PS4 back on top in Japan (ignoring the 3DS of course)

While the jump in sales for the PS4 is nice, it still has a ton of work to do to even catch the pace that the Wii U set. The PS4 will have to sell about 259,000 consoles in this next week to match Nintendo's numbers. (968,539 in first 7 months) Numbers that are considered by all to be disappointing for Nintendo. And as you can see Sony is in far worse shape with the PS4.

So while we do have console "winners" and "losers" each week in Japan, they all have some work to do. Except of Microsoft of course. There is nothing they could do to fix those Xbox One or 360 numbers.

The WiiU was realeased in the Holidays, which played a big role in the aligned gap.

Very true. But this is the best direct comparison we have. Maybe the PS4 can have a huge holiday in Japan. Then again the Wii U might go crazy too looking at those Smash Bros 3DS numbers.

I think you need to look at what happened whenever a console sold significantly more in one week compared to previous week in Japan. The following week the console drop to sub 15K numbers and eventually sub 10K numbers. The PS4 will go back towhere it left off before destiny released most likely in a couple of weeks.

Don't blame me for the language. I'm using the same Sheep vocabulary they've been using for months, showing off 1k, 2k and sometimes literally 50 extra units sold in a week. They call this domination and a Sony failure, even when PS4 makes up that difference in just one month in NA (190k vs 60k).

And if the PS4 in Japan can, once in a while, display an admirable flash of sales life from Destiny alone (a game which I don't believe will have the lasting popularity that Bungie/Activision envisioned), imagine the ass kicking when more big (and better) games come out, with far less console droughts and more online gaming than the Wii U will ever have. The better advantages are on PS4's side, and the brighter days and full effect will be seen in the upcoming years. Lessons will be taught, pain will be felt.

Console gaming isn't the same as it once was in Japan, but ass kicking never goes out of style no matter the generation. I can't wait to see the Wii U fall lower, because the Sheep smugness and arrogance over and extra 1k and 2k every week was annoying the hell out of me. I said it wasn't going to do much in Japan, because the PS4 had done shit in Japan as well. If the PS4 can't even sell 1 million in it's native country, why would anyone think the XB1 would do good. Wow.. it's smashed the 3DS sales. Yeah, it probably won't be in the top spot next week, but neither will the PS4. lol!! Wiui U outsold it again this week. Even though Suning had only 16,000 preorders for the XB1, there were other retailers that has 23K, 12K, 8K, etc... In the end there was going to be well over the 24K the sold in Japan, that's for sure.
