Ps4 beats xbone 4 to 1 in China!!!

As if NPD for november was not enough, the last numbers from Zhugeex, backed by industry sources confirmed that Sony has sold in 410k to China mainland.

Not that the number is impressive by itself, but compared to 100k shipped by Ms, one can easily say that China favors ps4.

Which destroys any narrative such as China gonna save the box!!! at least for the silly enough to come up with such an absurd idea.

So the only region where the xbone seem to be doing fine are NA and UK!!!

And that it's major problem, since to stay relevant in these regions Xbone will focuse on what Murica likes, thus making it less attractive to the rest of the world.

Or if you look at on another stand point, what is it that make microsoft consoles irrelevant WW except from the regions mentioned before.

Well you obviously want to focus on the markets where you potentially make money, that is NA and EU, Japan is out of reach for non Japanese company that's obvious. Chinese paying for games/xbl? dont think so. I doubt south america has huge amount of people paying for online either and same with africa.

I remember when lems said China would save the Xbone because Chinese people hate the Japanese and the PS4 is Japanese. Poor fools, I tried to warn them lol.

What i'm trying to say here, is by limiting competition to only 2 countries, Ms helps Sony.

Sony will find it easier to counter Ms moves since they are limited and predictable.

I used to live in China. Gaming is totally different there, you really have no idea.

First of all, you buy modded consoles. Period. You buy modded consoles with custom software and usually a hard drive of pirated games. When you want new games you go to a bootleg market and get burned copies of whatever is big at the moment.

Your console hasn't been cracked for modding yet? It's gonna fail in that market. Nobody wants to buy legit games. They cost the same as here, but China is a country where people make less money and things are generally less expensive. You pay 600 kuai for a game (about 100$) and that could be your cell phone, internet and food bills for the entire month. Instead, you pay 100 kuai or less for games at markets.

But most people don't due that because you can build a PC easily and cheaply in China. Most people play on PC if they're not playing on mobiles which is a way bigger market. I really wish I had thought ahead before I moved back and gotten some parts. I wouldn't get major components from knockoff markets but there's a lot of stuff they make fakes of that are of comparable quality to the real thing for a fraction of the price. I've got a knockoff Kingston flash drive that's 256 gigs and it cost me a converted 5$ or so. As long as you're good at haggling stuff costs peanuts.

Also, 410k or 100k sold, that's really sad. China has 1.7 billion people. That's five times the size of the United States, and it sold a fraction of what gets sold in the US, resulting in sales per-capita that are drastically below even what the Wii U launched at.

Yean but NOTHING Xbox sells in Asian markets. Yeah MS will probably keep trying cause they have to in a small degree but they know they not making a dent over there.

Im starting to think everybody on this board only care about how much a company sales.....Im mean really who gives a rats ass.....I had a ps4 and sold it 2mts ago it was a boring system no good 1st party games(imo).....now i got an xbone and really enjoying it....just enjoy your games man and let wal street worry about sales data..

I lived in China as well,Beijing and Shenyang city to be precise, and what you say is partly true.

Wealthy Chinese can easily afford any console, and that's alot of people, but the market is mainly pc oriented now.

China is going to be a dominant market that's the very reason why corps invest in there.

The goal is to have a solid business network once the market matures.

So if the sales are kinda poor by now, it's to establish itself as a dominant brand that matters,

In that regard, ps4 is miles ahead.

You must look at it as a long terms plan, not focusing on the present state of the market.

Millions are enjoying their ps4, just like you dislike it, what's the point?

The only thing stopping China from purchasing a ps4 is the escalators gobbling customers up on the way to the store or the building it's located in imploding.

Selling so few units means that most people won't know anyone that has a PS4, they won't talk about PS4, and they won't care about PS4. It's an earnest attempt and certainly a valid strategy, but any claim of Sony "dominating" is kinda ridiculous. Really, both Sony and Microsoft fell flat on their faces by totally misunderstanding a market that just isn't interested in new consoles.

If you wanna dominate in China, start making phone games. A p2w cash shop Halo game with decent marketing will make more money in China than traditional console Microsoft could release by orders of magnitudes.
