A HUGE difference from the PS3's and switching between games and loading them is super quick. I don't know how this compare's to the X1s - anyone care to enlighten me? Cause this thing rocks!

It's the best UI available right now, Xbone UI sucks donkey balls compared to it. It's really amazing how Sony was able to design the PS4 to beat Xbone in every way possible including the UI.

A definite improvement - the PS3s was just awful.
But still pales in comparison to the XOnes.
looks like you're into dat metro sexual squares look heh? good going, breh
While i dont have a PS4 yet the PS4's UI looks far faster than the PS3's but i just hope they will allow background themes later on as thats what made the PS3 UI pretty nice
@SolidGame_basic: Your not going to get an unbiased viewpoint in here. I have no idea because I do not have a XBO, might try the general forums.
The PS4 UI is very responsive. The layout to me seems a little odd, but it functions extremely well . No slowdown. Only real complaint is I have PS+ and I keep getting ads in the store telling me to upgrade. Wish that would go away. I have a year before I have to worry about it.
It's faster than the PS3s, yes. But that's it for me. I hate it aside from that fact. I really don't like how all your games take up so much space. At least the media options have their own section like the PS3.
The X1 UI is better IMO opinion but I have only used the PS4 UI briefly. I thought the PS4 UI was okay, perfectly functional but dull and uninspiring. Hard to hate and hard to love.
I like the X1's tiles. It feels more evolved. Its organic and changes based on how I use it, its customisable and attractive. My only criticism of the X1 is the fact its Netflix app is absolutely sucky.
its fast just like the PS3 UI was... But the PS4 UI is faster, and a lot nicer to look at. The xbone UI is not bad now, its much better than it was 3 months ago, but its still slower than what the PS4 has.
pretty happy with both xbox and ps4 ui. would like some more custom options and diffrent themes on both tho. (then diffrent color) pretty sure ps4 just blue atm ><
only big big problem im having with the ps4 dash, is how long the list of apps is getting, seems like be annoying if only horizontal in the long run.
would like something like can do on the 3ds. i want to see all my apps on the TV without scrolling accross.
Quick, smooth and easy to use. Downloads and installs are slick and easy, does everything in between playing a game or app brilliantly.
For ease of use and speed PS4>>>>X1
For aesthetic X1>PS4
For me the UI on a console is just to get me from A to B so i'll take the PS4's UI as it stands.
If they patch in even just custom backgrounds then i think you'll be able to get looks as good as it performs.

Look at RR360DD's opinion. Lems are no different.

No, the UI is plain and boring, especially since you cant customize it. Does run smooth though.

I_can_Haz: the ps3 UI is perfect just like the dualshock 3 it has no ad's and its fast and easy to use.
Quite a change and a contradiction some how the ps4 and dualshock 4 have improved upon PERFECTION which shouldn't be impossible, also the ps4 UI is filled with more graphical aspects *SEE: what sheens called shit on the xbox 360 UI* yet its faster than the ps3 UI....odd that

Haz was being a fanboy. The 360 controller is better than the PS3 controller and the 360 UI is a little better than the PS3 UI. But that was last-gen.
The Xbone controller is just so crap. It's been called "shitty" and "mad-catz-like". I still think the 360 controller is better than the DS4, but the Xbone controller has been so downgraded from the 360 it's hard for me to say if it's even better than the PS3 controller.
The Xbone UI is shit. Hands down.

But of course yours carries alot of weight..... Dumb gonna dumb
It looks bland and boring. It needs some nice themes to spruce it up.
Performance and speed while using less resources >>>>>> cluttering up with frilly garbage.
*UI
Yes it is, it's nice and smooth, plus the music reminds me of the Gamecube. No need to use gimmicky voice controls either. SCE just get it right, you know?

Seriously, when aren't you on Sony's dick?

Where am I throwing my biased opinion around though? I'm not going to act as if my opinion is fact, unlike cows and I_can't_haz does. You're right, dumb gonna dumb thanks for pointing out how dumb cows are.
Buddy Nelson said he likes it, and he spends a lot of time there because he isn't into indie games lol. Seriously, I have only experienced the PS4 at Gamestop kiosk, but If someone has trouble with the X1 UI or feels its confusing then they may be a zombie. So simple to use.
I thought the PS3 UI was good enough. Splitting up audio video and pictures was a bit annoying when using as a media client but other than that it worked well. The only other annoyance was that a lot of the features were unavailable in game as it was never designed to be used in game.
I don't really understand why boring is bad, boring is better than being over complicated or cluttered. All a UI needs to be is fast and functional, it's only function is to start games and organise downloads general set up and media playback. I would be more concerned over the lack of media features rather than the UI,
People get carried away with what a UI should look like rather than look at what it's primary functions are, or should be.

Well, its one thing to be simple and elegant (think Apple OS), and another to be simple and boring (Blackberry OS).
PS4s interface is currently the latter, though it is better than the XMB. Maybe they shouldve hired Google or Apple to design their interface. Clearly, Sony is better at hardware while MS is better at software. Has always been that way.
And that music and background is annoying.

iOS is elegant? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
It looks like some doodle by kindergarteners.
Love it love it love it. Huge difference in how fast you can get in and out. Great improvement, Sony. Now let us customize it.
