Nah, it was a jab at the dualshock line. I haven't had those problems with any xbox controller really, (though I have had 360 sticks become loose) their build quality is a step up from Sony's.

Those elite controllers are for Call of Dooty kids that think they'll get better by playing on a $150 controller. Waste of money. DS4 is good enough as is (the replacement of both analog sticks is needed, tho. The original ones are atrocious)

The PS4 controller is like the PS3 controller, only it was designed by a 10-year old so it has some nice lights and gimmicks on there.

I didn't build the controller so I don't know which parts are expensive. But what I find of great quality, that exceeds those of the standard controllers that come with consoles today:

• The braided charging cable
• The case that stores the controller and the slots for each component
• The aluminum paddles
• The magnetic dpad and control sticks
• The rubberized grips vs. the smooth plastic grips
• The aluminum trim
• The weighted controller itself with improved rumble and sound deadening when rumbling
• Over all build quality feels extremely high end compared to standard controllers on consoles

Now you can answer my question.

As with XB1 Elite controller, do not like the "dish" d-pad. Though presumably that's interchangeable. And it's a poor design choice going with convex analog stick heads. Xbox always had it right with convex heads that the thumbs rested into, for a more tactile grip. But at least PS4 has the edge ridge to prevent thumb slipping. Anyway the overall aesthetics are pleasant.

But that light is just stupid, at least it gets a slight fix with the next PS4 controller that's launching with the slim.

But the trackpad is in a really bad position and I don't like the start and share buttons. The PS3 controller just had a far superior layout:

@drrollinstein: Ummm...I'm not the first to say it and won't be the last. My only complaints are not enough games use the center touch pad and the battery life sucks. That's it the rest of the controller is perfect and the best standard controller to date.

Correction. This looks FAKE AF. The shoulders, triggers look they photo shopped the X1 elite controller onto it. I don't buy that this is a Sony product

It looks cheap as hell, it lacks any PS branding on it anywhere, no sticker or stamping linking it to Sony, no headphone jack, downgraded thumbstick pads instead of upgraded ones... look at the box. You don't need to zoom in to see that isn't an official Sony PS box either.

*edit* - oh, the back of the box states it can be used with XBox elite accessories. I'm sure that's how Sony would market their product :-P

I have no issues with the DS4 controller other than bat life. X1 is better imho , and my elite is tops.

Rumor is the PS4 Slim controller battery life has not improved.

Elite is definitely tops. My ps4 thumb stick is peeling on one of my controllers i've barely used. My one buddy's the X, triangle and O button just stopped working. Then there's the battery life.

if you want a better ps4 controller just buy a pair of the xbone sticks off amazon and put them in ur controller. i did it and it is so much better. bought a bigger battery for it too but the battery life is still shitty
