PS4 exclusive Until Dawn release date announced

Sony has announced that upcoming horror game Until Dawn will release on August 25 in North America, August 26 in most PAL territories, and August 28 in UK and Ireland.

Oh wow. That came out of the blue. I expected them to give a release date during their E3, and definitely not that early.

This looks more movie-game than The Order

More games than ever.

Thankfully no , so you will need to bash Until Dawn with The Order only.

Must be garbage to not announce this at e3. Guess sony had to make room for all those multiplats and an an hour for tv shows based on comics no one cares about for again

This really hasn't been on my radar at all but I hope it turns out to be a good title.

Could be surprisingly good, though i did think the same thing about The Order...

I would rather have one excellent game, then three terrible ones. Cows can have their stupid slasher movie.

August is the boring month so I'm glad Until Dawn will be release in August and not to mention, it's hot in August so that means, stay home cool and play games.

Oh look, the other movie game by Sony. All that's left is David Cage's new game announcement at E3.

This is going on a back burner for me. Witcher 3 will keep me playing a long time. Will break for Arkham. Then comes MGS5 and Halo 5. Strong year for games I want to play.

I have no idea what to think of this game, it could be an interesting experience, but it looks... awkward and seems like the gameplay could be broken or lame when it finally comes. Plus, the plot may not be stellar as well, seems pretty cliche. I hope it turns out well though.

I did have Diablo 3 on XB1 but I broke my "don't trade games in" rule and let that one go. But I've also been breaking my "no more double-dipping" and "only buy multiplats on PC" rules so maybe I will pick it up if things get slow over the summer. Do you plan on getting Elder Scrolls Online? I both don't really like MMO's AND already tried it on PC but I have friends and family swearing by the improvements and telling me to buy it on consoles. The problem there is a split between XB1 and PS4 so I guess I'm buying (and then probably not playing) both.

I'm slowly plugging away at Bloodborne, started TW3, playing some Madden and The Show here and there. I never did get FC4 or Dying Light. Those will probably be Steam Sale buys for me.

And how could I have forgotten about the biggest launch of the year? Splatoon! I don't think you can really play with friends in that game so maybe it's not even worth mentioning? I'm excited.though. I'm down for some co-op for sure. I have a busy weekend AND the Amiibo hunt continues Friday so I will probably be in bed before the sun goes down Thursday night. I'm sure we will all figure something out.

no gameplay = no buy from me. I'll wait till next year to get a decent PS4 game to buy i guess :(

'Gameplay' consisting entirely of QTE's and button prompts? Trying to be a cinematic experience? Until Dawn? Ready at Dawn? Sony? Coincidence?

I think Until Dawn will be an amazing interactive movie experience which features quality QTE prompts and controller gestures to solve and defeat enemies in a AAA experience which can only be found on PS4

Until Dawn will join The Order 1886 as another interactive movie experience masterpiece only found on PS4, this is for the players

We're? So you're admitting to being a cow? I would loosely categorize this as a game. Looks to be a QTE fest as cows blasted ANY MS game that remotely promoted anything QTE.

Personally, I think it looks interesting and perhaps worth at least a rent.

No I'm a PC fan, I just think that if a game looks interesting you should be allowed to look forward to it, shame the lems ruin it for everyone.

Do you also say thing to cows when they do the exact same thing only more often? I haven't seen it so far so.....one could easily say you're a cow because you sure seem to run to defend them more than any other faction I've seen.

Some of you are forgetting QTE became popular around the time Shenmue on the dreamcast was released, which was quite a spectacular game.

Then again, many companies overuse QTE today and it feels lame/akward in the situations you are pressed to use it in.

I told you countless times, I hate the lems FAR more than any other fanbase, they're the bane of gaming and the worst fanbase easily
