PS4 is underpowered.

With that said, it isn't to the point that Nintendo is with the Wiiu. Nintendo has put out some great games on this console. They look great too. The underpowered aspect is more of a bummer than anything else. I'd really like to see what a developer like Nintendo could do on something like PS4.

It is more what you do with it these days, no? The machines are still much more powerful than last gen to the point of having the option for expanded genres--we aren't really seeing it though because of sales trends.

You can clearly see swapped/higher quality textures in every image... It's not even stuff you have to look for, it's right in front of you and it's entirely different...

@nyadc: I'll check it when I get to a desktop , but people need to realize all photo modes are not the same. Infamous added nothing, it's best feature of the photo mode is the camera , the Order 1886 doesn't add anything either. A game can't be discredited just because it uses a photo mode.

For this game it does add things, it's not like game changing or anything but it does not represent what you get while playing.

@nyadc: Really? You will notice a better texture on a rock 100 yards away while driving 120mph? The most impressive thing I've seen of DC are gameplay videos and that means more then anything when it comes to visuals.

Well you certainly got me there, I don't know how I forgot about those games, but still, the best looking ones are MGS and CoD, the former is a game built on last gen standards and the latter well, it's still using that ancient engine and it's also on last gen consoles.

I doubt there are many current gen only games that run at a locked 1080p60 on PS4.

Back on topic. Yes the PS4 does have some pretty spiffy graphics. So does the XB1, Hell I think a lot of Wii U games look fantastic. (That engine driving all current Nintendo first party games is pretty impressive) Point is arguing over which system has better graphics is pointless at this point as both PS4 and XB1 push out the same quality visuals for the most part with very marginal differences. As said before if you really care that much about graphics in video games get a computer.

This is one of the wildest claims I've heard from this site, apart from "teh small difference PC to PS4" and "30 v 60 fps no difference".....so I'm going to ask for citation. Please provide a link proving that Photomode (Widely called bullshot editor) in DC (and likely all other games) just changes camera angles.

@Jankarcop: I didn't say it did in DC dumb ass. Can you read? DC is the only one that adds anything which is mostly AA and AF. Infamous SS and the Order add no assets. Now I ask again you said all photo mode shots were bullshots yet completely ignore the other two games.

I've played with photo mode for hours with this game. Photo mode simply pauses it and allows you to adjust the camera and color filters(Black and white for example) or add and remove DoF although that usually makes the image worse. The IQ including AA stays the same.

Yes, using a powerful PC for years on end makes you very keen to spotting things like that. You get spoiled and you notice problems and imperfections more easily than most people.

Also it's not just "a rock", dont downplay this like it's isolated to a single thing and no big deal, it's poor damage control. It's assets, texture, LoD and geometry changes all over these maps...

Wait... Do you not even own this game... Why in the hell am I even debating anything with you if you don't... Jesus Christ what colossal waste of my time...

The dynamic AA used in the game gets better when objects do not move. I:SS uses very complex and dynamic AA method without sacrificing too much performance.

it uses SMAA T2x, its a mix of an improved MLAA, better quality, faster speed, slightly slower than FXAA, and TAA which is temporal AA When things are static it get a TAA addition, moving objects only uses the SMAA part of the method. So when your in photo mode everything gets SMAA+TAA.

Added AA=/=Exactly the same, it's as simple as that.

Photo mode on Driveclub does NOT look exactly the same as in Game, there is added AA so there are less Jaggies in Photo mode which creates a smoother ans sharper image not to mention that it is a STATIC image which does not reflect how the game actually looks in Motion.
