PS4 / PC / WiiU Owners plans for Rise of Tomb Raider this Christmas?

I have both systems but uncharted is way better, so I'll be playing that.

I never liked Tomb Raider and I own an Xbone and 360 if I cared for this new cross gen 360/Xbone game, I have the required hardware just in case...however, I have no interest. I've never liked Lara.

I'd imagine PS4 owners will play Uncharted 4 which is comparable (+ not cross gen like Tomb Raider) and Wii U owners probably will have Zelda or something equally good.

really i played both the new tomb raider (on PC) had a much better experience with it then unchartered 1-3

i guess diff strokes for diff folks i actually id rate the new tomb raider way over the uncharted ive played it wasn't even close for me just the gameplay was way more fun an i really digged the characters and and mechanics more

i can't even see how someone would like uncharted more after playing both i just dont see it personally

Uncharted 4 will be my Tomb Raider of 2015. Hopefully, TR won't be exclusive on the XB1 for too long.

I've always disliked Tomb Raider since it started in the 90s by CORE and the recent ones are better than the originals imo (Crystal/Eidos even hired amazing Sony talent for the last TR game), but whatever. Personally, I feel Crystal Dynamics is wasting their talent on Tomb Raider when they could be pumping out Legacy of Kain which is where they started instead of maintaining a CORE game IP. I know business though and Crystal goes where they are told to go.

What is disappointing about the latest entry of TR is that the game is being held back by the 2005 released, last gen 360. Uncharted 4 won't be limited in that way as it's not releasing on 2006 last gen released PS3.

As far as your last sentence about how you can't see anyone enjoying Uncharted more than Tomb Raider...here's what professional critics say:

It seems to be being as objective as possible, Uncharted has an advantage in both being considered a better series by the world's critics and Uncharted 4 not being designed around old PS3 architecture. What I find neat is seeing what the Xbone and PS4 can do. I'm so tired of cross gen multiplats and so games that are NOT on PS360 like Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, Halo 5, and Uncharted 4 are definitely more exciting than games designed around old hardware. As a tech fan, I'm more excited by current gen developed games that omit old hardware.

Gameplay wise? I can understand someone preferring one over the other though, it's all good. By looking at the critics, they are both good game series, but Uncharted is the critical darling. That said, if someone prefers mechanics or what have you, by all means have at it. I laid that all out because you said you couldn't understand how and these scores might help you understand that. BTW: I do own the reboot TR game, but it's just not a game that held my attention.

Then why did PC Tomb Raider (2013) look better on high end PC's than Uncharted 3 if the engine is built on the same last gen tech?

That game scaled very high on PC for being "old" architecture wouldn't you say so how could you say that if it improved so much graphically

same thing is gonna happen with the sequel if anything its gonna look even better and pc version already looked way better than last gen stuff

Yeah, Uncharted is newer...yep. It seems you noticed that too. Good for you. Halo is more popular than Gears of War. Mario is more popular than Pac-Man. The Beatles, Star Wars, Disney...Things are more popular than other things. So? If you like Pac-Man better, then that's what you like. For the record, I've seen all the Tomb Raider movies and I grew up with the games so I already know it's popular. You WERE talking about game-play, now you are talking about popularity?

I wasn't arguing over which is more popular and I feel your ideas are "crap"(?). A last gen game scaled up isn't the same as designing a game ground up for next gen hardware (AI, textures, level design, lighting, particles, etc). Look at PS2 games scaled up on PC vs. 360 games scaled up. Look at an N64 game scaled up. You must not be aware of scaling limitations. These limitations are going to apply as the generation goes on and on. These last gen games scaled up are going to look worse as more and more modern and current gen games become the standard. Look at the 360 launch games like GUN or Tony Hawk multiplats. The flaw with those scaled up games is that they were designed around old ass hardware. That's going to be evident when the next TR comes out. It sounds like you are going to be okay with that, but I'm not. I imagine I'm older than you and I've been through this enough times to recognize what I want in a multiplatform experience.

As far as casuals knowing the TR brand...that's about popularity, who cares. I was talking about game-play. I showed you critic scores trying to be as fair as possible as you said you couldn't comprehend how someone could like Uncharted more. The critics like Uncharted more. I'm not here to change your mind about how you feel about TR or Uncharted. Eh. I'm just here to explain why others don't share your enthusiasm for this upcoming cross gen product or the franchise.

Will wait for PC version. Chances of it being on PS4 are slim.

I enjoyed the TR reboot, so I'm looking forward to the next. However, it will be the PC version.

Even though I can play it, it's a sequel to an awful reboot. Hate the character and don't like the gameplay so I won't bother.

I am not going to buy an Xbox One just for this game but if there is a good deal and there are enough other games that interest me I might pick one up during the holidays this year.

On the basis that I do not though I will probably wait and see how long the exclusive period actually is. I will be playing Uncharted 4 anyway which is a similar game so by the time I get a craving for a similar experience chances are it will be out, or due out on the PS4/PC.

Honestly between Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda U I really couldn't care less about Tomb Raider. I'm already up to my eyeballs in awesome exclusives as it is.

Ill wait for the superior PC version, weather I buy it on release or during a sale depends on what I am doing at the time. I doubt PC gamers will be waiting a year somehow and PC games can go on sale or be discounted even before they release so the 2 years for it to be on sale option is a bit desperate of you.
