Agreed. I mean it plays the same games on the original and Slim line which are way cheaper. And since their fans owns capable PCs and the Pro is not more powerful than the Scorpio, there's really no need to get the Pro.

by that logic if you own a pc then there is no reason to own any of the xbones at least the PS4 has exclusive games

I don't think console gamers will find the upgrade to the Pro worth it given they find the graphics/performance enhancements from a PC to be negligible.

Cool, must be an exciting time for fans and early adopters. I can relate, I got myself the Gears 4 X1S on day 1, and plan to do the same with the Scorpio. Getting a new console is always a nice feeling. It's not the same as a new generation this time around, but it's close enough. So good luck with the launch, I hope the fans get what they want!

@silversix_: Maybe there's something about it you don't know yet, might be beneficial to look into it a little more closely after launch, and make the decision then. You never know.

Most games will not be native 4K and there is no guarantee of 1080p/60fps with it. Also, no 4K Blu-Ray. So, who exactly is supposed to be excited for this?

we will see, but when i see Cerny bullshitting with its "our console can haz 8.4tflop" lets just say,,, my hope is low. The fact that Sony isn't allowing 60fps in 30fps games (for multiplayer) is a deal breaker for me. What a dumbass idea...

Too soon for PS4 Pro. Late 2017 or 2018 would have been better.

Would've been so much better if the console was coming out at the end of 2017 with 7tflops, a cpu that is guaranteed to not being a bottleneck and 12gb of ram. I'd be hyped for that shit even if it was $500USD.

There's deals and there's going to be deals where the Xbox One S which includes 4k blu-ray for freaking $250. Can you even built a PC for $250 that supports 4k, includes a controller and looks sexy as hell? I don't know I'm not a PC gamer, I'm a console gamer. Every time someone brings up PC when they talk about Xbox, it doesn't apply to console gamers like me. Someone build me a PC and make it looks sexy like the Xbox One S and includes the Xbox One controller and 4k blu-ray for $250, I'll consider PC gaming.

Don't really care about the embargo, I'm buying it anyways. Was looking to get a new PS4 cause the one I have now is just about done. This is the perfect time for me to buy the new one.

I don't get the hate for PS4 Pro. I am a PC player mostly but I tend to buy Sony consoles for their exclusives at some point. Not at launch but a few years down the line when there are enough games out to make the purchase worth it. Both PS2 and PS3 had some amazing exclusives and PS4 has already had several well received ones too. So if I have a choice between an original PS4 and an upgraded version why would I buy the inferior one? 4k even with checkerboard upscale is better than 1080p and as the upgrades for several games have already been announced, it seems a lot of them will give a nice boost to 1080p too.

Would I prefer that it had better CPU and would aim for 1080p60 more than 4k30? Probably. Still I'm getting this for the exclusives and I'd prefer to run those on the best hardware available.
