Poll Ps4 Pro or PC? (53 votes)

PC 47%
Ps4 Pro 45%
Other(Please Explain) 8%

Hi, I am new to the forum and I am having a doubt lately.

Me and my brother are thinking about buying a new gaming device, and we are in doubt between a Ps4 Pro and a PC.

My brother likes action packed games focused on combat(Like monster hunter, dark souls...).

A like more cartoon like graphics and RPGS.I also prefer long games.

If pc, any recommendations about building or buying it ready?Best parts and stuff. Dont a want super expensive rig, so more likely a 1050ti or a 1060.

If you enjoy the sony exclusives go with the pro.

If you play mostly multiplat games then go for the PC for sure.

PS4+switch. You'll have access to the types of game you enjoy and you'll be paying way less than for a PC.

PS4 Pro, they have too many exclusives now to ignore and it gets majority of the PC games that matter.

PS4's exclusives should keep you busy for a long time, it's got the best ones this gen.

PC has a much better overall library (since it spans multiple generations) and it will last you longer though.

I'd look into the PS4's library, if you can find a lot that interests you both, then buy that. If you really want a PC somewhere down the line then you can always save up for it later (with the new RTX cards coming in, prices should be better down the line).

Added bonus: If you buy a PS4 Pro soon, you can get the spiderman bundle. You'll have a custom PS4 Pro and you'll get spiderman for free (it costs the same as just buying a PS4 Pro without the game).

PC if you want multiplats that you can't even notice the difference

Ps4 if you want to actually play the best exclusive games

Switch + Ps4 for the ultimate gaming system half the price of a gaming rig < don't blow your money.

If he plays games, and not just exclusives, PS4 would be a poor choice. Over 100 less games. Worse online.

It boils down to if he likes the handful of PS4 exclusives or if he likes PC genres. IF he likes neither, it's down to if he wants to play the good version of most video games (multiplats). If he likes online competitive play, PC is also the clear winner.

Depends on the games you like.

If you want low budget indies, RTS, Moba

Get a PC.

If you want the top tier titles every year in Action Adventure, Adventure, Fighting etc I'd go with console.

Nobody plays 100 games, so this point is irrelevant.

The best games are on both systems, with the difference that ps4 is cheaper and have quality exclusives.

PC doesn't have a single exclusive better than God of War or Bloodborne.

PC loses.

1. Citation Needed.

2. Total aaa/aa library is THE definitive factor when comparing systems. And PC just obliterates. Sorry.

He said PS4. Not consoles. You have to compare PC to PS4.

I'll try to make this more accurate and less biased for the TC. Consider these facts, TC:

  • If he is into high quality or AAA RTS, TBS, A/CRPG, MOBA, MMO, SIM, or FPS I'd go with PC.
  • If he is into competitive online or e-sports I'd go with PC.
  • If he is into big budget multiplats (most video games), I'd go with PC. By a large margin. 95%+ of these are on PC, and better experienced on PC.
  • If he also wants to play big budget MS exclusives, and overall a larger library (110 more games than PS4) I'd obviously go with PC.
  • If he is into high quality or AAA action adventure games, I'd go with PS4.

@zaryia: less biased from you? That's why your a known liar. And everything I said relates to the PS4.

Big budget titles? PS4

Action adventure? PS4

Fighting? PS4

Adventure? PS4

Moba? PC

RTS? PC

MMO? PC

Far more reliable then the nonsense you just posted

He also said budget PC so the 95% better version wouldn't apply for him.

PC has more big budget titles. It gets the most multiplats funneled to it (PSN/MS exclusives) while retaining expensive genres like MMO and a few big budget TBS/RTS games.

PC plays the better version of almost all of PS4s library.

Multiplats? PC (the most played and released games, mind you)

Online? PC

MMO? PC

MOBA? PC

RTS/TBS? PC

Action/Adventure? PS4

I'll agree, if he's getting a budget PC that is shit that wouldn't be wise. Pointless really.

thinking about this one

INTEL I5 7400 3.0GHZ 6MB / GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB / 8GB DDR4 / HD 1TB

it is $951,35 dollars more or less being bought ready

the ps4 pro is $647,32 here

buying the parts separeted is better for the pc?

@zaryia: it does not have the most big budget titles. It loses all PS exclusives and a healthy portion of PS/Switch games.

The rest of your post is irrelevant as the PC he is looking for would not play the better versions of those games. He said budget PC. I know reading comprehension is not your strong point but stay on point.

Action Adventure

Adventure

Fighting

JRPG

Are all better genres on consoles in every way.

Yes it does. It has a big chunk of MS exclusives, a few PS exclusives, and ssome big budget RTS, TBS, MMO exclusives.

It simply has the most raw multiplats, and the best version of them. It is THE place to game.

Also the most high scoring titles (110).

@zaryia: No it doesn't. Citation needed.. burden of proof bro. I need all these games with 20 million dollar+ budgets on PC that aren't on PS4. Also name me one genre thats better on console that's not also better on PS4?

Again your superior versions don't apply to the TC. Not sure why you keep bringing up the argument.

I mean, PC plays the better version of most of this gen releases than PS4, by noticeable margins. Far better online. And 110 more high scoring games This is great!

It's quite likely that PS5 will be announced/released either next year or the year after. It's already been reported that games are being developed for it by insiders. Some people also expect the PS5 to be backwards compatible with PS4.

If you haven't played any of the games on PS4 then I think it's worth it. 1-2 years off is quite a while to wait and you'd have a significant backlog of exclusives to work through until then. Chances are, the PS5 won't even have quality exclusives of its own until a year after it releases. I can't say for sure, of course, but PS4 and PS3 didn't have very strong launch lineups, and Sony's major studios (except Guerrilla) have all either just released or are going to release their games. It'll take them another 2-4 years to work on their next game.

If you really don't mind waiting until PS5 and banking on it being backwards compatible with PS4, you can always just buy a PC now. You'll get great value out of it with steam/origin/uplay sales and services like the humble bundle.

If you gave a PC budget, then the answer may well be easier to give.

thinking about this one

INTEL I5 7400 3.0GHZ 6MB / GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB / 8GB DDR4 / HD 1TB

it is $951,35 dollars more or less being bought ready

the ps4 pro is $647,32 here

buying the parts separeted is better for the pc?

Is this PC going to be used for anything besides gaming? Will you work on it? If not, there's no reason for you to pay $300 more for the PC when you can spend this money on games.

TC, you can get $300 of games by going the ps4pro route and you have a 4K TV.

@lnv: PC is more expensive in the initial purchase. Pays off in the end.

Keep in mind, one big reason people choose PC is because multiplats are better on it. However, the PS5 will undoubtedly perform better than a PC with the specs you've listed above.

When you buy a PS5, you'll essentially have no gaming-related use for your PC besides exclusives/mods unless you upgrade its components down the line.

@zaryia: it does not have the most big budget titles. It loses all PS exclusives and a healthy portion of PS/Switch games.

It simply has the most raw multiplats, and the best version of them. It is THE place to game.

What's your score prediction for the PC version of RDR2?

Deflection, lol.

I mean, PC plays the better version of most of this gen releases than PS4, by noticeable margins. Far better online. And 110 more high scoring games This is great!

A total win!

No.....you see now you're getting desparate and making stuff up...... PC has the potential to play the better version but contrary to what most rabid, deluded fan boys would lead people to think........ a GTX1080ti doesn't sit in every PC gamers rig.

Come on down to my mom's basement, I'll show you why you should get one of those 20k-dollar computers.

Also, I have popsicles.

In all seriousness, the handful of exclusives that consoles might get each year are not worth the trade-off: PC is freedom, diversity, capability, and a whole lot more. Most amount of titles spread across the greatest amount of genres and sub-genres, best components and peripherals, and so on.

PS4 is a big fish in a small pond; PC is a whale in the beautiful wide open ocean.
