PS4's BF4 Looks Better Than PC's BF3

I have a kickass gaming PC (check the signature) and a PS4. I have only one game for my PS4, which is KZ:SF, and want another. However, the only game I want to get for it is BF4, but obviously it would look and run better on my PC, but since I already have BF3 for PC, I think getting it would be redundant. What to do?

If I do get it for PS4, should I wait until Moday for some sort of sale?

Holy moly! I can't comment on the multiplayer, but the single player campaign of Battlefield 4 looks incredible on the Playstation 4. I'd even go so far as to say that it looks better than the PC version of Battlefield 3 on max settings (seriously!). It's all in the lighting; it's just so darn realistic, and combined with the photo-realistic character models and backgrounds, it creates a phenomenal looking game.

Perhaps it's due to Killzone: Shadow Fall's slightly unrealistic art style, but it looks even better than that game, which says a lot because Shadow Fall is no graphical slouch.

From what others tell me, if BF4 is not on PC in collection, X1 is better than PS4. Just what I'm hearing, being that, lets face it, BF or CoD isn't bought for SP alone.

PS4 is by far the best choice if you want to play it on a console.

Although a fps is always better on PC.

Only you can answer that. Do you have friends on either system? Do you have a preference for DS4 or KB/M?

Its best played on PC but if you have friends with a PS4, get it on PS4. Playing with friends trumps pretty graphics.

If you have to get the game then just get it on a PC, that's the best version of the game.

It's cheaper and better on PC. So there is really no reason to get it on PS4 if you have a good gaming PC.

I got it first for PS4 to play with friends will eventually get on PC when the price drops.

if you don't mind EA's invasive EULA go for the PC version. Nothing beats Keyb + M.

I enjoyed BF3 on X360 using Keyb + M (via xim3 converter) and now finding it difficult playing BF4 with a controller.

Isn't BF4 like $40 on PC right now? That and it being the best version should pretty much settle your mind. And I think it was cheaper yesterday.

I got it for pc a couple days ago when it was 25$ on amazon. I'm going to get a ps4 and was debating getting it for that, but I have no idea when ps4's will be back in stock, and I couldn't pass up 25$.

If most of your friends are going to be playing on PC, I'd get it there. But if you're looking for another graphical showcase for your PS4 to go along with Killzone, then getting the PS4 version is the way to go. While obviously not as impressive as the PC version maxed out, it's still an insanely gorgeous game on the PS4. It sometimes even outdoes Killzone.

There is a $10 coupon right now check the pc forums here or reddit. Then Origin has it for 39.99 (it was $30 yesterday) so that would make it $30. Gotta love PC gaming.

Get it for PC. Exclusives will continue to roll in for the PS4, just be patient.

BF4 on the PS4 is fantastic. It certainly does look better than BF3 and it's comparable to BF4 nearly maxed out on a PC. Game is pretty fun to play with a controller too - I really prefer handling helicopters and jets with the controller as opposed to M+KB. Me and and another hermit friend of mine took the plunge together and we haven't been able to stop playing it. I don't have to have the PoS Origin installed on my PC either! It's a thing of beauty.

One thing that certainly doesn't look anywhere as good is fire. I remember playing BF3 maxed and thought fire looked amazingly realistic. You play BF4 on ps4 and it look worst than tones of titles on ps3/360...

The fire looks fine to me, though certainly not up to par with any of the other game's GFX. The water on the other hand...

yeah water looks great (great until you see it clipping through boats) but fire? I think it looks mediocre. I would like to see if there's any differences between pc and ps4's version. Another thing that doesn't look very good (especially on Xbone) is sparks. Extremely pixelated.

not really. BF3 already looked very very good for 2011 and graphical update to 4 isn't even that noticeable, at least not like from Crysis 2 to Crysis 3 for example.

Uhm... heck no! Bf4 on ps4 looks nothing like bf3 maxxed out at 1080p. Hell id say medium high settings with blurry post aa at 900p! Also ive noticed there is little to no af on ps4 games. Something that is a very low hit on performance and makes a big difference... I was playn nfs rivals last and it was first thing I noticed!!! No freakin AF!!! Plus I was drunk when I noticed this

BF3 MP could look worse just because that blue tint was so god awful.

It's not a big surprise which machine wins in this face off if you followed the tech specs of both machines and ease of development of both machines.

The entire breakdown is in the Thomas Morgan Euro techie article. There was a thread in SW about this final BF4 breakdown, but the tiny segment of fanboys that were holding onto those claims never appeared in the thread. They quietly acquiesced BF4.

Totally agreed on the jets/helis. I play BF4 on PC but I fly with my 360 controller. It's sooooo much better.

BF3s engine was an incomplete mess at the time, I'd hope the newer version of the engine would beat the old one
