PS4 software pre-orders 55% ahead of Xbox One

Domestic software pre-orders for Sony's PlayStation 4 are 55 percent higher than the software pre-orders for Microsoft's Xbox One.

According to the latest United States pre-order data from VGChartz, consumers have pre-ordered a combined total of 834,242 games for Xbox One.

Activision's (NASDAQ: ATVI) Call of Duty: Ghosts led the pack with 254,404 pre-orders, followed by Electronic Arts' (NASDAQ: EA) Battlefield 4 (134,457 pre-orders) and Ubisoft's (OTC: UBSFY) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (113,582 pre-orders).

Eight Xbox One games made it into the top 40 list of pre-ordered games.

By comparison, PlayStation 4 had nine games in the top 40 that amounted to 1,259,581 pre-orders.

Once again, Call of Duty: Ghosts came in first with 259,511 pre-orders. Battlefield 4 performed much better on PlayStation 4, nabbing 255,241 pre-orders. Killzone: Shadow Fall came in third place with 230,155 pre-orders, followed by Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag with 173,343 pre-orders.

i would assume that is close to being right. I know vgchartz isnt used here, but i do think they do a pretty good job. The XBO will gain steam once the price comes down. At 500 people are going to shy away.

i know they have been wrong, they totally under estimated the Kinect launch etc. But they do put an effort and sometimes they are pretty close. I give them respect because of the work they put in, once they get official numbers they do go back and fix it.

we get it ps4  sellin more cause its 100 cheaper ,- but wait til wiiu picks up some must haves such as mariokart 8  ssb4 and yoshi ,   among others

yeah vgcharts may not be %100 accurate but its still a bad sign for the lemmings. Can anyone show me a link where XBone is actually leading in any pre order category over PS4?

I don't know what my funds will look like at launch so it's easier for me to preorder and pay them off over time.

I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's definitely better than the Halo franchise now. The amount of preorders that KZ:SF has is nearly the same as CoD: Ghosts and BF4. KZ could end up becoming a 10 million sales per iteration franchise for SONY.

SONY just needs to play it right. Maintain high graphical quality, 60 FPS with lots of effects. Make sure the gameplay is solid and has a somewhat decent storyline. If SONY and GG can do that, then there will be nothing that Microsoft can do that'll stop KZ from becoming the Halo on the PS4. While KZ becoms the next Halo, the real Halo is sliding into irrelevancy and mediocre sales. :lol:
