They don't compete in which way? I'm currently considering whether or not I should buy a computer for work purposes + PS4 or whether I should spend the extra money and get a decent gaming PC. Thus a PC and PS4 are competing for my money. I know that's anecdotal evidence, but you'd be a fool to think that a lot of people haven't chosen between PC gaming hardware and a console.
This is becoming more apparent with most games also coming to PC as well as consoles and a lot of people gaming on their laptops. The demographic is becoming quite similar especially with the variety of games on PC. This isn't the 80's or 90's anymore when PC games were very distinct from console games, they are pretty much blurring together these days. You can ignore that all you want, but these markets are in competition for consumer's money.
NO they are not you are using a lame example.
Please explain in depth how it is lame
This is plain and simple you need a PC for working,a PS4 will not help you with that,a gaming PC will because on a gaming PC you can work and play games as well,so your argument is quite stupid just because you think about what to do doesn't mean the 2 compete because regardless of you getting a PC or a PC+ PS4 you still getting a damn PC man.
I'll be getting a PC either way. My decision relates to which system I want to play games on. If I spend more money on my PC, I can play games on it, or if I spend my money on a PS4, I'll play games on that. To make it more clear for you, those two systems are competing for my gaming money. I didn't think that was a particularly difficult concept but I guess I was proven wrong.
So no matter if you drop the PS4 or not you still getting a PC how is that competing when the PC is on your list one way or the other.
The competition lies in the system I'll be playing games on. It's not a very hard concept, mull over it for a little while.
Competing is when you have to leave one to get the other,a gaming PC work with both cases a PC + a PS4 would be a little bit redundant even more if you are not much into exclusives.
In a business sense that is not all competition is. Competition is anything which can steal customers away from you. People choose between consoles and PC for their gaming needs, hence they're in competition.
Hell you can get a PC for working and a PS4,and add a GPU latter one and you also have a gaming PC.
I can also choose to get a GPU now and get a PS4 later. I don't see what that has to do with my point.
So i want am turn between a Galasy S 6 and a iphone 6 + yeah those 2 compete.
Good on you, you worked that out, I'm proud of you.
Yeah it shows that is why almost all games on both platforms sell better on consoles and not PC.
That has absolutely nothing to do with anything in this conversation. To use your phone analogy. Sony phones sell a lot less than iPhones and Samsung phones, yet they are still in competition.
PC is a separate market and it has always been stop pretending.
A separate market with overlap in terms of gaming.
