That is DRM, MS are just spinning it , if you don't check in every 24 hours the machines stops playing games, thats DRM.

the US is the only place they have a shot of winning in.  Unfortunately we are stupid when it comes to buying consoles :P.

I agree. MS will wind up failing with the Xbox One in the long run. The U.S. alone won't be enough for it to have a very huge install base. Just imagine if there were less people who bought the 360 in Europe. They would've been in 3rd place long ago.

I was amazed how US centric the Xbone reveal was.I was almost expecting them to say a US only release after it.

So much focus on NFL and sports fantasy leagues,nobody outside of the US cares.

As a person who doesn't have cable TV, I could care less about buying the XboxOne.

Xbox One will get most of the consumers who actually put money into the industry and make it thrive. PeasantStation 4 will get all the free loaders and pirates.

Just speaking for myself living in Saudi Arabia. I COULD get good enough internet to really use Xbox One, but the thing is, all that neat-o TV stuff won't work over here, and i very much doubt it'd be even adapted for regional channels over on this part of the world. 

 

Also just talking from trends growing up and living here. Sega was the big favorite in this part of the world back in the day, today it's Sony by far followed by Nintendo. Xbox 360 is available but it's viewed as ancillary to the rest of the machines out there. and i fully expect Xbox One will go through the same fate as the Xbox and 360 did over here in the rich Arab Gulf states. 

 

It all depends on how the product is viewed, its image and value, and whether or not it'll for us over here. I mean for soccer games (and it's hugely popular in this part of the world) the go-to game was Winning 11 series for the simple fact that you could get Arabic text on it. Now Fifa is the favorite (even though it was clearly one of the best soccer games before) since they added Arabic support. It all depends on how much your game/hardware is attuned for the region. 

 

Xbox isn't viewed the same way as Sony's Playstation or Nintendo products are - over here. 

 

and i do agree, i think Xbox One is clearly aimed at just the 1st world markets with little to no thought for the rest of the world. and i think Xbox One's trying to make itself look like an Ipad but as your set top cable box in your house - that happens to play games.

This is going to be the 6th gen all over again. I am so excited. The PS2 is my favorite console ever, and the PS3 was a bit disappointing.

Xbox live have 45m paid subscriber that is something sony only can dream of ,i don't think ps4 will win by default it's only microsoft that can mug people and they still happy about it

I agree. The new Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts brought back great memories, even though they are not exclusive anymore. I really hope that the PS4 will be a great system.

Except they've already claimed they want this to be a billion console generation.  Doesn't sound like a company that no longer cares about units sold...

The 360 has a marginal at best presense outside of NA and Europe but they hardly could be characterized as uncaring of 360 sales, or to have surrendered to Sony.  Same thing here, except outside of the 41 Live countries they will have zero presense instead of next to zero presense.

With the current price and policies, MS is going to lose, for precisely the reasons we think. 

Lem damage control , I'm sorry but iTunes works like a charm here in Brazil , just like every apple feature , netflix, among other services, even if I was in NA I wouldn't be getting this pos called x1 and lol @ TC trying to convince other ppl that the ps4 will have drm like the x1.

I assure you , ps4 will outsell x1 in both NA and Europe as well.

Yeah I have a strong dislike for Microsoft at the moment, with the Windows 8 start screen, Kinect spying, DRM, expensive price of DLC, snatching up Dead Rising as an exclusive, being some of many of my issues with them. They seem a bit arrogant at the moment, and I really hate arrogance, who doesn't? Even arrogant people hate arrogance. I would be the first to admit that I am a little arrogant myself. Microsoft just seems sure of itself that people will flock to their console.

I thought the most hilarious moment of this E3 was the smug grin on Jack Tretton's face when talking about how the PS4 supports used games and does not have strict DRM.
