The all digital version is for a reason,and that reason is to have a cheaper model to deflect the damage of a high price.

The only all digital console I would buy is an Xbox they have gamepass with every MS studio game and more day one and da cloud streaming ready to go

That's not right $700 US is $1123 AUD and if we take 80% away from that it leaves roughly $224 and the PS4 was not $224 at release here in Australia (you still can't buy one for that price here) it was more than double that, and besides the PooS5 will be somewhere between $700-$800 which is slightly higher around 20% more than the pooS4 here at release.

And all this is IF this is the final price lol.

I think the reality is, we are going to be getting much more expensive systems. If you want 4k, you have to pay the price. To play at 4k for $600 to $700 at 30fps is pretty damn good for a machine that will last several years

Th PS5 is not using an off th shelve SSD is custom,they make some changes,for example dropping DRAM and using SRAM,while i know it will cost it will not cost what usually cost to make one like that,it also has less Nand Flash as well an for this rason cost.

the ssd is not what making have those speeds it what inside the custom main chip.

the ssd is a cheap low end ssd. the custom hardware attached to the ssd is what makes it so fast.

Anything over $499 for either console would be suicide, and even $499 is probably not in the sweet spot. Depends on if one console undercuts the other on price.

PS4 won at launch because it was $399 and was basically better than the console that was $499 that forced you buy it as a Kinect bundle. Don't underestimate that $100 difference to the casual shopper. PS4 probably still would have won because it was just better, because of the "TV, TV, TV" and the used games fiasco, but if both consoles were $399 at launch it would have at least been closer from the beginning.

PS3 lost at launch because it was laughably overpriced, it only gained traction when it hit the $299 mark and finally became the better deal.

Not sure we can take much from all these different prices.

I think think the PS5 will be same as Sex but the PS5 digital will be less. That's why Sony did it.

Gamepass might be a deciding factor for some. We'll see what the digital PS5 price is

Amazon France allegedly leaked the price of PS5 @ 499 euros. If that's real then it'll likely go for $599 in the US. Holy cow...

This would be like the "599 USD" meme from the ps3 days.

I doubt it will be THAT expensive though. Amazon France had it at 499 euro which is more or less what I had guessed. I think that will be the price, at least here in Europe.
