PS5 launch title prediction!

What game do you think Sony wants as its system seller for the PS5?

I think God of War or Horizon.

Look for "B" tier titles at launch(Knack etc.), Sony never launches with heavy hitters, those start to come 2nd holiday season.

Horizon a better chance than GOW but doubt either available at PS5 launch. TLOU 2 definitely even though BC is available.

FFVII Remake (4K 60fps PS5 Edition)

I seriously doubt that they’ll have a new God of War at launch. Maybe Horizon 2 but I’m kind of skeptical about that as well. Most likely it’ll be something that has already been announced like The Last of Us 2 or Death Stranding. Of course there will likely be something like a Knack game or perhaps even Knack 3 itself.

I think we'll see Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima being cross gen games among many third party games. PS5 versions being a bit better but essentially the same. We may see FF7 Remake as a PS5 launch title as well.

I'm hoping to hear that Uncharted will continue in some fashion for PS5.

They won't need a system seller at launch as the PS5 will sell out for the first few months. The hype will calm down after that and then they will focus on exclusives to continue momentum.

Knack 3, Killzone: shadows rise, and the last of us spinoff: too much of them.

TLOU 2, FF7 Episode 1, and some family-friendly mediocre title in the vein of Knack is my personal prediction, although I might be a little too optimistic with that second one.

I think it'll be a safe bet that Last of Us 2 will be a launch title.

They should get balsy and bring back more classic PlayStation games like ratchet and clank, Jak and daxter, sly cooper, hell launch ps5 with a new twisted metal or socom. Sony has so many past franchises they just waste. I dont care about uncharted or last of us. Do a new Socom, time splitters, or twisted metal, switch it up, they dont diversify thier library like they used too, that was why the ps2 was many peoples favorite console of all time, not for the hardware but the game variety

Uncharted could well make a return on PS5 with Chole taking over from Nathan drake. I think Sony need a shooter not sure killzone is the answer though.

I predict their launch title will score a 9+ here at GS. As for what game it will be, I can't predict it.

It'll be nothing spectacular. I expect a solid launch, with largely humdrum titles. If they pull a AAA quality game at release, then i'll be pleasantly surprised.

I wouldnt be surprised of we got a new Killzone on launch. Last i was aware Guerrilla said they werent done with Killzone. But i am hoping for HZD2 to come out shortly after the PS5 comes out. Resistance games remastered.

Pitfall: PS5 4K 60fps edition.

HZD 2 is already in production, so either its going to be a spilt gen or a launch title. GOW is another hopefully another given the ending of it. Since Sony loves PSVR they will have some titles for that showing the power, hopefully the PS4 headset will be compatible since they never used the full power of it due to the ps4's lack of power.

OP, you confuse system sellers with launch titles.

Bought a PS3 at launch, never going to do that again... historically speaking the PlayStation has been hilarious bad at launch and don’t really see any indication of that stopping next generation.

@ProtossRushX: yeah man Socom, timespitters, and twisted metal are amazing franchises. If they put decent online with these titles, they will have legs and sell like crazy over time, I wish sony wasnt so scared of doing MP.

GT7, it's already be leaked by several outlets. It's that's true then that's the only true exclusive Sony will need to launch with PS5.

With The Last of Us 2 updated 4k 60fps, as well as all other high profile titles that released in the last year getting that enhanced update for PS5 as well as 100% PS4 BC out the box. It won't need any gimmicks to sell or just wait promises to sell systems.

If Sony's gonna launch Knack 3, I'm pre-ordering PS5 for that game :)

A few ports like tlou2, FF7R and whatever the most recent AC is. Maybe 1 or 2 exclusives, probably a Killzone (because FPS are easy to make look good) and a new IP that in some way will show its new hardware (probably something to show ray-tracing. In the first year we'll probably also see a port of Dreams and one big exclusive (like Horizon, a new GoW or whatever)

I think, you’re right on Horizon or perhaps even a new Kill Zone.

There will definitely be a driving game so I think perhaps Drive Club 2 or perhaps a return of Ridge Racer.

Naughty Dog will probably release the Last of Us 2 on both PS4 and PS5.

No you downplayed GT as not as not been able to even beat mario kart but you didn't say in what.

Sales wise GT walk over Forza so releasing a GT would create problems for MS as the game sell better,regardless of getting a lower score also you don't have a crystal ball to know future GT would score and i remind you that GT use to score even higher than Forza by the way.

But hey games like crackdown 3 suck way more than GT ever did and you say shit about it.

Just pray that MS can put out something decent from those new studios they bought,because even Halo is not what it use to be on that platform.

Score wise Forza is better i don't have a problem with that,unlike you i don't feel the need to attack reviewers because things don't go my way.
