PSA: Resident Evil Village Demo out on XBOX

I am not a huge horror genre fan but for those who are Resident Evil Village demo is now available for the XBOX in the XBOX Store

edit: I downloaded it and loaded it up, you can not play it for another almost 24 hours.. so this is a pre-download.

Sweet. I don’t really need any demo for this game myself, got my copy pre-ordered so I’m all ready to go in a week from now. Will download and play some this weekend though to prep myself for next Friday.

I will re visit every single RE before playing 8 , even the horrible RE7.. so far village looks to be much much better even if some hate the first person view.

@tumorstation5: The only one that has anything to do with RE village is RE7. I played through it to brush up on the story.

@silentchief: Hmm I don't really mind the first person view ,I just didn't like the characters,story and "fungal" infection.. the atmosphere and gameplay was like old RE.

Pass, I will be buying game anyways so I can wait until then. Plus I would rather my digital game library not be littered with demos.

Yeah, that shit is annoying. They should the option to permanently delete demos from the library.

The game is just around the corner, no point for me on playing the demo. Just gonna wait till the 7th and enjoy the game fresh.

I've missed every demo except the first one on PS5. Just checked the countdown, 11 hours to go, I wonder if this will be available a limited time only like the two before it.

Just played the demo and I am using the term play extremely loosely. I spent the majority of the time watching cutscenes. When I actually played, it was a shallow interaction, and the puzzle was particular brain dead and added nothing to the experience. This is ignoring the mediocre gunplay. Meh!

This is what I was afraid of it sounds like RE7 the combat sucked and the game had to many scripted moments.

The Raytracing mode on Series X performs better than the PS5 version , Series S RT is uncapped so it dips to its 40 but isn't 60 either , the normal mode is 1440p 60 most of time on series S.

Where are you getting this information?

Runs like a dream on a 3070. 4k 60 FPS with raytracing on. Just finished the village demo, but it's pretty eh. Time to try the castle one.

FYI The comments on his video by him say the video misidentifies the Series X RT on at the 1 minute mark as being "Series S" it is actually Series X

Game runs terribly on my 1080TI (30-40fps), even on low settings. It's surprising because RE7 ran easily at 100+ fps, usually over 150, and it doesn't look much worse than RE8.

@Pedro: Ah, seems I get to try it then.

Edit: Okay, the first thing you wanna do is disable any camera acceleration, makes aiming harder than it should be. Didn't try motion aiming, but might be great for correcting the aim a bit. Didn't like the bullet sponge enemies, but I'm going to assume it gets better when you get to upgrade your weapons. Decent demo, looking forward to the final product.

Since when RE never been scripted?

RE4 was scripted, RE5 was scripted as hell, RE6 -- gears of war.

if it was not for RE7. entire series would be trash.

Downloading it on pc to see how my 1070 and 9600k handles this.

Why not playing it on your PS5?

I am currently playing both to see the difference. Lots of stutter on the ps5 when going through bushes. 60fps my ass.

I haven't tried it on the PS5 but I was under the impression that it was a locked 60FPS.

I'm staying away from the demo as far as possible since I enjoy RE7 on PC, I don't need to know how it plays or to see if its good. That said, few of the trailers I watch is more than enough to warrant a purchase already on PC thus I got a discount on it.

I only tried with RT and the "very close" is what i am noticing. Not 60fps stable.

RE and fps don't mix, easy pass for me. Tell me when they make a real RE game and I'll pick it up in a heartbeat.

I’ve had it downloaded but just haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. Just too busy with Monster Hunter Rise right now. 😅

So i've done the 1h on the PS5 on Hardcore, and i am not too sure how you're supposed to kill shit in this game. Enemies move/evade your bullets way too much to properly aim for heads and they don't react to bullets (really disliking this part) when firing at their limbs or body. There's no way you're supposed to run away from everything (even tho i always killed everything that moves in the old games), and it doesn't make much sense to spend more than 20 bullets per enemy when there's 6 of them chasing your ass.

What i really like, tho is the hidden items and treasures all over the environment, and some are really well hidden. That stuff is cool and i've been missing it since RE4.

RE4 combat is one of the worst of all time in third person game. you cant even move while shooting. ala lazy design.

Agreed. Ignoring the awsome big tiddy milf milker monster, kinda does look boring as all shit. Couldn't even be arsed downloading it.

The VR Resident Evil 4 looks way better, Facebook being assholes not withstanding.

If this one sucks, we kinda have to blame ghost. He is the one who wanted it to be first person, and it is clear as day that Capcom was on SW and listened to his ass.

The game is great and if you don't like it go back to play generic rpgs for weeboos

I only got into the resident evil series with re4. I've played and beaten that game over 20 times no exaggeration. I then played re5, which had similar game play mechanics but they removed a lot of the features from re4, and the inventory wasn't something I liked but I still enjoyed it. After re5 I didn't play anymore resident evil games for a while, I heard re6 was trash and same for re7.

I purchased re2 remake on my series X and I'm enjoying it...but I really can't handle too much horror. Add to that, this is survival horror, not action horror like re4 or re5, so you're always low on bullets and half the time running away from zombies, dogs and even lickers to preserve bullets. Normally survival horror isn't my thing, but re2 remake is fantastic game. Re8 looks amazing too, but again I wish they return to the action horror mechanics.

@uninspiredcup: RE4 was one of the most overrated gsme of its time. Its RE7 that save the series otherwise we know RE6 fisaco 10 years ago.

@warmblur: RE4 is actually a QTE fest play as leonardo Dicaprio who cant move while shoot. Beside RE4 was hated by early games fans back in days.

Alan wake was far better than RE4 with much better atnosphere and story.

Alan Wake has a great story and atmosphere but the combat is repetitive there's no variety to it RE4 has much better combat and it's not even close.
