Did it say ANYTHING about backwards compatibility for the SKUs that don't have it? clubsammich91they didnt say much about the slim other than its smaller and cheaper.
anyone find the animated themes the coolest new feature of the update besides me?
PSdual_wielder
Yeah I reckon the animated themes is the best feature too
Me too, and hopefully that comes soon afterward. The good thing is, they're working on it. This is an awesome update that no one was expecting.Even though this is nice. i still want my cross game chat and party chat and instint invite sony.

Cosmetic improvements and "What's new" is fine, but no BC? Do they really need to keep milking the PS2?
Finally we get some different avatars. Heh, just needed to get that out. No matter though, I still want to see cross game chat/party chat - and BC while I am at it.Racer_XLR
Your not the only one. It was one of the moments I said FINALLY to. I dont want the prototype guy as my avatar. Cole from infamous better a dam avatar.
[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]- Nice. The What's New feature is perfect and allows for more connectivity and advertisement for Sony. Similar to NXE. - Before, I thought the NXE looked better (it being a 3D XBM). But with these custom themes, I'll have to give the edge to XMB now. - And guys, don't complain about voice chat. We aren't paying anything. They said they're working on it so relax.jonnyt61Have they actually stated they're working on it? I've not read anything about that. I'm not saying they haven't, but I'd like to see it, just so I can be assured they're actually giving the time of day to easily the most requested feature.

"PS Home Community Manager CydoniaX has revealed that several features are in development that a lot of PS3 owners have been clamoring for, particularly cross-game chat and voice messaging.
The reveal was given in a discussion thread in the PlayStation blog where one user gave the following comment:
When are we getting game launching abilities for every multiplayer game in the PS3 library? Why is it that the most basic of features for both the XMB and HOME get prioritized and delivered before all the extra stuff?
1) XMB - Voice Chat across games
2) XMB - Voice messaging(30 sec clip)
3) HOME - Game Launching for all games
CydoniaX replied:
All that stuff is still in development, game launching started with Warhawk and should be supported by all future game spaces now. It takes time, but we haven't forgotten about all the stuff that our users really want!"

I think everyone needs to be patient :). There was also a report of Sony having voice chat up and running (with 6 people at a time). It's easier said than done.

Lol, cool. I'm about to go find it :).Using n4g as any source, or even a portal to a source, and for that source to be trusted, or worthwhile, is much like believeing it will feel good when you crash into a brick wall going 60 miles per hour....
(i post this same thing any time any one links to n4g.com it has no bearing upon the source, simply that a site like n4g.com needs to die, and die quick it is actually worse then system wars is, every thing on it is under one of 2 reasons to either be a troll and fanboyish or get money cause your in the top 10 there are no other motivations.)
