Want to play vita games without the disappointment of owning a vita ($200)?

Amazon and best buy currently have the PS TV (Vita TV) for $70. Of course you'll still need to buy a controller. But if you're a big enough sony fan to buy a PS TV, you probably already have that shit. And don't forget that proprietary memory card! (thanks Godny)

However the PS TV doesn't just do vita games, it can also remote play from the PS4.

You are essentially buying a heavily constrained Vita and remote play system for PS4.

I wonder if getting a PS TV just to play Persona 4 Golden and Tales of Hearts R on my TV would be a bad deal. I'm a huge fan of those two franchises. Danganronpa 2 looks yummy too...

I actually took the time to go through the whole list just now. I'm seriously considering one of these things for 70 bucks. I can live without Gravity Rush and Tearaway is coming to the PS4 anyway...

Sony hasn't updated the compatibility list for Playstation TV in awhile I believe. I know for a fact that Soul Sacrifice was not compatible with PS TV when it first released in NA.

No, I refuse! I'll only buy a PSTV when/if they upgrade it to 1080p and at least 5.1 SS.

I'd go buy one right away if it weren't for the memory card issue, that's the only thing holding me back. There's a good bundle with a Dual Shock 3 and 8GB memory card for $100. 8GB isn't much though, if I downloaded Persona 4: The Golden it'd be like half the card. But, I guess I can get a physical copy to save room, use the memory for the PSP games I want which won't take up as much room. I'd say the $100 bundle is probably what I'll end up getting.

Anyhow, strange they're doing these deals. I was at the Sony store yesterday and they were selling the PSTV for like $100 for just the bare bones unit, $140 for the bundle which included a Lego game of somekind. They should at least be matching what Best Buy and Amazon are selling them for.

They heavily use touch screen for controls something the PSTV doesn't have.

I own a Vita...but I am not much of a handheld guy.

The Vita comes in handy when the lady is playing PS4 though and I have her transfer to the Vita and watch a movie next to her. ..and of course, the vacation trips is when my Vita and 3DS get the most play.

The PSTV wouldn't do much for me, but if I didn't own a Vita, I might have considered it.

$340 with Far Cry 4 doesn't sound like too bad of a deal compared to what it would normally cost. Not that I would ever buy a console, but for those in the market it isn't too bad of a price. That's $120 off retail or about 25%.

More than one game to justify a hardware purchase.

Eh.... it's $99 for one of the best games ever made, people pay more than that for BS limited collector's editions of annual CoD/AssCreed releases.

Not me...I like to pay under $30 for games, usually $15 or less. $130+ to play one game is insanity to me. I could have thousands of hours of awesome gaming experiences on PC for that kind of money.
