Thoguht this was interesting to share:

Digital analysts say PSN sales grossed $49.4 Million in second six months of 2010 and $9.3 Million in December alone. Revenue from sales of PlayStation Network games in the second half of last year rose by 40% year on year which outstrips Microsoft's offering, Xbox Live Arcade, which grew by just 18%. This according to analysts is a further evidence that PSN is closing in on XBLA, Fade says that first-month sales of simultaneously released multiplatform titles are now a 55-45 split in Microsoft's favour, a dramatic shift from the 2:1 ratio it enjoyed in 2009.

Digital analysts claims that PSN+ subscribers keep on increasing which has over 100k members USA

Very very impressive from PSN, strong competition between the two Networks

lol...see lemmings. When the online portion is FREE then only 100K users are rich/stupid enough to actually buy the yearly subscription for psn+. This would be the EXACT same case if xbox silver had free online.

You saying that PSN+ users are more stupid/rich than lemmings? Because if you want to game online with XBOX LIVE you have to pay. Where as the PSN user have a choice. ;)

And as a PSN+ member from the beginning, I've been skeptical of how great a service it really is. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten some great games for "free" out of the service, but there have been some months where the content was just crap. Today though, they released Double Fine's new highly praised game Stacking as a free PSN+ download. If they start releasing new content like that more often, then the service will truly be worth it, and more people will definitely want to come on board.

True, would love them doing so with more newer games like this, overall though with PS+ they have offered so many games such as the 5 episodes of the sam and max, LBP spin off with move, Stacking, wipeout and others more

PSN+ isn't really stupid at all. I have never had it, but I believe that it's much better than XBL due to all the freebies they give you. There are plenty of games that I've seen for free on PSN+ that I'd really like to play, totaling over $100 probably.

I have PS+ and I am neither stupid or rich. I found it be have nice benefits and in turn it has saved me a lot of money in the PS Store with free games, 1 hour game trials, discounts on games, themes, avatars, etc.

I heard Sony took measures to stop the sharing of digital content, think before it used to be that one user could buy something digitally and share it with 4 other users (so 5 downloads total), I think I read Sony was supposed to have stopped this so you can only download it to the console your account is attached to, so maybe this is the result of that. I still prefer downloading XBLA games since rights management is a lot easier to transfer, retain, and there's no download limits.

Yep now you cant share with others, i'v got 2 people i know that shared with each other and they'v got banned for a month on PSN. and this happened a few weeks ago. its great that they have finally done this if you ask me :P. nothing worse than someone getting something without paying for it :x :P. love PSN games

Great hopefully that will mean that they can offer demos for the downloadable content they have on there cause as it is now if the game is exclusive to psn then it happens to NOT have a demo for it 9 out of 10 times which i find really really stupid.

I haven't had any problems game sharing at all lately. I remember reading that Sony was going to do something, but it's still been working. Only game I couldn't do it for was Final Fight: Double Impact since you have to be logged in to play it

All I can say is LOL analysts?

If Lemmings pulled out analysts as the source for XBLA dominance, equalityCows would say the exact same thing, so I say we will wait till Sony and Microsoft both release official numbers.

Not for long. I wouldn't be surprised if they started stripping down the entry level PSN to the bare minimum, and trying to convert most over to PSN+. I'm not going to brag and say I pay for Xbox Live Gold, and it is superior, but just that I'm sure Sony sees all the revenue Microsoft is making off of Xbox Live Gold, and are wanting to get a piece of that pie.I haven't gamed on my PSN in forever, so I'm not sure how improved it has gotten since initially, but I think Sony will probably be wanting to get more out of what they've been putting in to the network also.I know it's going to suck, but I bet next gen all three companies charge for online.

This depends on what you like, PSN already has tons of great games from musical games to platformers to FPS shooters to RPGs to JRPGs and list goes on, would take me a huge list to list if you want, i'v got over 70+ PSN games and there are still more coming not to mention retail games. been too addicted lately to Modern Combat Domination ( an FPS PSN game for $8 )

Well I'm usually the one buying the stuff and then people mooch off of me. If Sony has a problem with it than I simply won't buy any of the games anymore if I can't play them with my friends who can't afford it.

Also, as far as performance differences in terms of gameplay online, I haven't noticed any either.

PSN offers rewards and discounts for going PSN+ while letting us play online for free even if we don't. XBL has no such system set up for that with Gold. Which is why we prefer PSN+. Heck, I'm on PSN+ and they offered Sam & Max for free and I got it for that reason. I wasn't interested in it otherwise. I enjoyed it so much I paid $20 for the Tales of Monkey Island bundle. Then I made a couple walkthropughs for it on GameFAQs when I realized I couldn't find a PS3 walkthrough for it that had trophy information. lol

Hmm, so I'm rich/stupid? I'm must not be the stupid one becuase I got Stacking, Spyro and Spyro 2, Crash Team Racing, all of Sam and Max: Devil's Playhouse, Abe's Odyssey, Burn Zombie Burn, Cuboid, and a bunch of other stuff for free, recieved discounts for great games like Dead Nation, and got access to the betas for LBP2, ACB, DCUO, and KZ3. That's hundreds of dollars worth of free stuff and discounts. I have 9 months left on my subscription, after which I won't have much time to play the games anyway.

Yeah, PSN+ is clearly the better deal when you look at it this way: PSN: Online gaming is free. (DCUO with subscription) Has trophies. Can use Netflix, Hulu, NHL Gamecenter, etc... with paid subscriptions to respective sites. PSN+: Offers free and discounted games, along with benefits. XBL Silver: Can only download games/movies and has achievements. XBL Gold: Paid online gaming, and use the various apps the 360 has.

Ok. I guess the fact that I only have 3 friends, which are never on, doesn't help the matter.

Not sure if I like the news about PSN+ doing that well, the more people it has the more likely they'll make features like automatic updates exclusive to them, I'd like to see everyone get them.
