Maybe some of the Hermits can help out, I haven't played Second Life and I know nobody has really played Home aside from Beta Tester. How similar are these two ?

Second life you build the entire world with other people, in Home you have to buy the items like the pool tables if you want them in your home.
So at the core they are not really the same, Home is a mix of a stripped down Second life and the Sims.
I thought home was free?bamafan3414
It is, but if you want the premium content like pool tables in your virtual house then you have to actually buy them. You can of course go play pool for free in the lobby though.

second life is also free
If you want to you can buy stuff, but you can also make stuff and sell it.
Nobody's buying a PS3 for Home, its just a fantastic feature that acts as the system hub. Its just cool and nobody else bothered to do it.tomarlyn
its dumb in my humble opinion, i mean why would i want to walk around a place and search for people to play a game with while being bothered by 13 year old kids who have the same emo hair cut, but hey it is free

Well you do get the occasional cow mentioning it in game exclusives and stuff like that. :P

Can't you still use the normal system menu without stepping into Home?

I wouldn't think so, but even if you did is it really that bad that you'd actively fear setting foot in a virtual world for a few seconds?
Second Life is a game with objectives to complete. Home is not a game with no objectives, you just look at things.

i wouldent mind it but lets say your freinds will be there in 15 minutes that means i have to walk around the virtual world with 13 year olds swearing and using racist slurs while having the same clothes and emo haircuts
-yawn-hotdaisy18Yes, to those of us that qualify for MENSA , Home does seem to be boring and pointless.

There's a saying that goes, "You get what you pay for."
I think this will apply to Home. I don't like the idea and something being free isn't enough for me to want to use it.
