Search Youtube for Halo 2 hacks, people did some crazy **** Even got a few of em online for a while, (aimbot etc.) till Bungie unleashed the banhammer.
Honestly I haven't experienced playing with a cheater since the SOCOM 1 days. Microsoft and Sony have done a great job keeping their online multiplayer secure and cheater-free, despite what recent events may suggest.

My friends and I did it (mostly my friends, it was his xbox), then long story short he got banned lol. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times! Halo 2
Yeah this too, even my time with PSN has been pretty much cheater free, maybe the OP is just getting beat by "cheaters".

I think the only cheating I see on the PS3 is in the COD games. I just played Smackdown vs raw 2010 and ran into 2 cheaters/hackers.
Are you sure they were cheaters though, maybe its just a case of "omg how'd he do that, he must be cheating" or were they clearly doing things that are impossible in the game without modifying the game files like say flying, invincibility etc. ?

what does any of that have to do with cheaters? lol Because its load of malarchy.. I have played both, rarely do you come across a cheater in either especially when both companies now (Sony most recently) are clamping down on hackers.
Only cheaters I run onto on XBL is lag switchers on Black Ops. Other than that Halo 2 with modded xbox 1's was the last big issue with cheaters I remember, but that was cleared up with the Banhammer. I don't play a lot of adversarial multiplayer on my PS3 other than Killzone 3 recently. Most PS3 games like Uncharted 2 and Resistance 2 I really just play co op so I haven't ran into any cheaters on PSN, though even if they were I wouldn't know it unless someone pointed it out. I simply don't play enough Killzone to know whether it was an actual cheat or just a glitch or some lag or something.
i rarely run into cheaters on either system. they are slightly more common on PS3 in my experience, but noting that even remotely breaks PSN. i still find XBL to be the superior service due to party chat, and i tend to have less lag in XBL games. except BC2. some days the lag on that game is just game breaking, but most days there is little to none.
Psn is a free service where no one monitors it till it gets so bad that sony has to direct ban a lot of people which then instantly unban them selves now.... Xbox live is a pay for service that is monitored cheaters are caught often and always...yeah xbox live is the better service Psn has been made into a wasteland of cheating.
