i just got the update i must say pretty cool for a handheld to be able to download games and such i like that you can put your ps1 games from the ps3 to the psp now. Anybody else seeing this as a sign that sony wont go down without a fight considering handhelds?
If you find it enjoyable to play older PS1 games, then sure.
Being able to download (digital distribution) is an awesome service, but there are hardly many games that people haven't already purchased via UMD for their PSP. It's time to relase NEW games instead of ported PS1 games or older releases now available for digital distribution.

No you just need psp and wireless and you can access the playstation store..........No ps3 required

psp won the handheld fight in my mind a long time ago.....Just like 360 and ps3 don't even compete with the wii.....
Nintendo put out crap and tell the consumer its gold and people buy it ...even tho it never gets played....

then why is the DS selling about 50million more units then the PSP? Im also really sure alot of the games are played alot.
yeah because they sell 500,000 units a day
and every day ...the ds gets about 500 plays...and then they never play it again and the new people play it for the day they get it...and they cycle continues....I own a ds myself

I love my PSP, but it's a completely different animal than the DS. If I'm going on a short trip for work, I don't even bother bringing my laptop anymore. It's incredible how much it can do if you know how to use it.

No, you have to download a PS1 game from the PS Store onto the PS3's hard drive. Then you connect the PSP to the PS3 with the USB cable and copy the PS1 game from the PS3 to the PSP.
Or you can put a PS1 game disc into the PS3 and play it through Remote Play. I've never done it myself but it sounds like a cool feature.
