March looks to be a great month to have a PSP... It already has a Powerful line up of Games that I'm loving (This is a List of the top games that I have)

  • Final Fantasy Tactics the War of The Lions
  • Burnout Legends
  • Ratchet and Clanks Size Matters
  • Daxter
  • Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops

But Its also getting some Big Name games that look to be very Promising... (These are the Two that I'm buying for Sure in March)

  • God Of War Chains of Olympus
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7

I really don't see how the DS is still so far ahead of it, but no one can say that the PSP is not an amazing hand held...

The DS on the Other hand does not have many games that I like... (Are ones that I own or plan to get)

  • Pokemon Pearl (I'm 17)
  • Final Fantasy 12 Revenant Wings
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicales: Ring of Fates

The DS is only winning in Sales... The PSP's games are of much Higher quality then those of the DS... Games, not sales, are what REAL gamers should be thinking about....

I take it this is Europe or Australia's release date or something?
Anyways... hope you enjoy your games.

Edit: Whoops, misread... thought your first list was games just coming out that you were anticipating.. :P

Aside from GoW and FF VII there isn't much I want on the PSP really, and even then... I'm not buying those games day one. PSP's games are hardly ever a "top priority" for me... I've had DS games more of a priority than any other console game (Like AW DoR :D ) but... PSP has never had one for me... Just how I feel.

The DS wishes it could even handle watered down PS2 ports. Did you even SEE assassin's creed on the DS? Ubi shoulda made it a 2D side scroller.

The PSP is like a console in your pocket. GTA on the go is it's biggest attraction IMO. I can't even count how many times I whipped out my PSP just after a math lecture and chill till the class was over, etc.

The PSP has other quality games too like Burnout, Daxter, R&C, MGS:PO, and these games are on par with their PS2 counter parts. Not watered down. MGS:PO, according to official reviews, looking exactly like MGS3 on the PS3. Daxter is amazingly sharp as well. MGS and Daxter on the PSP have better graphics than A LOT of wii games LOL!

I have played many psp games and there console counterparts are WAY better in comparison they control better look better and are longer.

DS is cheaper that is why more people cling to it.

Gamers usually already research what games you want before they choose either a ds or a psp.

For you psp, you might want to also get Patapon, Syphon Filter, Ben10, (surprisingly Ben10 is a pretty good arcade game, imo.)

Fire Emblem isn't out yet, and the general consensus of reviews says that Fire Emblem is indeed a good series.

Mario Kart DS
Advanced Wars Dual Strike/ Days of Ruin
Castlevania (both of them)
Pokemon
Yoshi's Island
Professor Layton
Zelda PH

If you wanted upcoming games. I can make a list too. Otherwise I'm not going to bother.

If you didnt notice the DS dosent need console port games to succed it utilizes new IP's and a reimagining of old IP's to beat out the PSP. All the games you listed are just remade console games with gimped down graphics and terrible controls (except dax). Again have fun with you "portable console" Im going to be enjoying new fresh games on the DS.

And what does that have to do with anything ?

Why would the DS wana run console ports ? Its HANDHELD not a full game console the psp is trying to be a full console hence why they have so many console like games that ware waterd down and some just plain suck.

The only psp game I liked are lumines and Tekken:DR the rest for the most part I can play the better version on a console

Yes because pokemon is sooo original

The PSP games i happend to mention do have different versions on the PS2...but the PSP has plenty of original IPs that get really good scores, a recent example would be Patapon which got AAA status on IGN. I think 9.1 or 9.2.

Notice how I didnt say all DS games are original I said they either create new IP's or they just reinvent them using the DS unique controls  Reading comprhension FTL!

The games you listed are ports of console games with downgraded graphics and controls. But hey you like it and I wont fault you but it's been proven that the PSP games cant stack up the the console itteration because of the graphical limitations and controlls they put in it.

Good luck pulling out a PS2 in class or on a bus or on a road trip. The whole point is that it's a HANDHELD.

I'd say the DS is better overall. Just more variety, and i like that.

Plus, there's about 40 games i want for it, so it's pretty much the best handheld yet... well for me, anyway.

Wow if Nintendo wanted to pull back on PSP(which they will not have to do) they already have DQ9, they will drop another Pokemon(and we know how Pokemon sells yeah and im 18 years old) put out NSMB2( thats a sure seller) And lets say they will pull out something like a Portable SSB. Nintendo just has so many cards to pull with DS that will just murder PSP, forsake if they pull them all at the same time, PSP will be a gonner. PSP just doesnt really sell to the real portable gamer, it sells to the people who want a 3D gameboy and and iPod in one package and it failed at some of those. That old saying... jack of all trades master of none applies to PSP. I have a PSP and heck, after I got my second DS(which was a Lite) I havent picked it up since June 2006 and I can mark the exact day(June 15) I have only 10 games for my DS, and still theres more I want. I only have 2 games for PSP Daxter(which if it got a PS2 port I would have picked up) and GTA lCS which had a PS2 port but still it was just GTA3 all over again.

DS has so many games I want, while PSP has so many games I already own in better versions on PS2. I support Sony but PSP to me is not my cup of tea when i want fast hanheld experiences.

The DS has amazing games.. they got that Prof Layton game that just came out and that Zelda game is amazing.

However, I am stoked with the new FF and the God of War game.. i honeslty bought the PSP for those two

I guess I'll give an opinion, I'm a moreso "lemming" and so not portable game.

PSP lineup looks better soon, but overall, the appeal of the PSP is console gaming on the go while the DS is something different on the go.

Its whichever stlye you prefer you should.

ff:tactics, monster hunter 2, jeanne d arc, disgiea, castlevania and a bunch of others that I can name are watered down ports

name some fresh games

xflamedemonx
Jeanne d arc, and FF: Tactics are far from ports. as for fresh games, Crisis Core, and other titles like Loco Roco, Patapon give the DS a variaty I find hard to spot with the DS's game selection...not saying I don't own alot of DS games though.

I'd say the DS is better overall. Just more variety, and i like that.

Plus, there's about 40 games i want for it, so it's pretty much the best handheld yet... well for me, anyway.

YoshiFan123

All you need is that Kirby Super Star Remake and you are all set :)

I'm amazed you read the whole list.

I'll look that one up, thanks.

MGS and Daxter on the PSP have better graphics than A LOT of wii games LOL!

deluxemando

Let's pop those PSP visuals on a big screen alongside any Wii game and we'll see what you say then.

RogueGoose

Graphics =/= quality.

...why was it necessary to mention your age with Pokemon Pearl?Slashkice

People tend to label Pokemon as kiddie games I guess.

March does look like a strong month. I wish Crisis core came out a bit earlier though.

Bad time to make this thread especially after Professor Layton went AAAE and Advance Wars Days of Ruin went AAE. Heck we are only in February as well.

Pokemon is just as appealing to the older generation as it is to the younger generation , its just a matter of what game types you like

This topic is about the good games coming to the PSP in march. Anyways I could care less for Prof. Layton. Although AW Days of Ruin is another story since I'll be buying it in a few weeks.

I actually have no real problem with pokemon. In fact, I still ocassionally play Emerald on my GBA, my main complete with Pokemon is they never seem to make enough changes with every release. I mean, you did get your few new features here and there, but it's really the same game with a new coat of paint.

What does Wii have to do with PSP and DS? But yeah Wii ports are garbage. Good thing it has great exclusives.
