Was this such a surprise?
Seriously this was probably the most idiotic move in the videogames industry for some time.
And just as you thought Sony were getting smart again.
not to mention the fact that not all there PSP's game library is available for download. and with no UMD theres no way they can play the games they wantIn japan too? Maybe they now have some sense!
tbh, nobody will buy a PSP with a smaller screen, and have to spend 3 hours downloading a game. Not anyone's cup of tea.

We shall wait and see how it goes on the first week since the article is comparing the first day of the PSP Go with the first week of other similar devices. For a new system it's a massive failure. The DSi sold 200,000 first day in Japan.
The DSi has replaced the DSL and as I said before is a casual product. The PSP and PSP Go! are both being sold together. The PSP is still the prefered model over the GO!.Notice how you leave out the little facts?

Originally? No, no it didn't. It took months for the DSi to replace the DS Lite. See how you leave out the little facts?"Japan gets a few unique bonuses right out of the box. Sony has included demos of Hot Shots Tennis, the Hot Shots series mini game collection Everyone's Sukkiri, andan upcoming social networking app called ROOM."
Heh. First Home; now Room :|

I could be wrong but i think it says in that article that DSi sold 170,000 over the first 4 days.

You are wrong. First 2 days.in terms of hardware the PSPGo imo is great but when it comes to price and software support sony totaly messed it up. first they start off with a $250 dollar price tag considering its probably cheaper to make than the $170 dollar PSP then they completely forget the fact that many gamers have a bunch of games on UMD and they basically say screw you to those gamers by not having any UMD conversion program. it said a system when so much potential is bogged down by simple things sony could have easily fixed
Why does anything deserve such a thing? I mean seriously we knew it was gonna be a failure, but this is the possibility of future consoles. Not anytime soon. But it is a possible thing. I mean what's life without taking a chance? :?It deserved it imo.
